The next morning, Josh woke up to find his coat empty. He didn't realize Tyler had gotten up early. He rubbed his eyes and stood up; finding Tyler on the other side of the magnolia tree strumming his ukulele.
The boy lifted his head up; looking at the man.
"Good morning." He said; running into Josh's arms. "I didn't want to disturb your sleep."
"It's okay." Josh said. "It was probably the best sleep I've ever had, with you by my side."
Tyler smiled.
"I'm glad I made you feel comfortable. That jacket was comfy."
"Really? I thought it wouldn't."
"Of course it did."
Josh smiled.
"Well, I guess it helped."
Tyler wrapped his arms around the man.
"Come hang out with me by the magnolia tree."
"Oh Tyler, I need to go see Jenna. I haven't talked to her since last night."
"May I come with you?" Tyler asked. "I don't want to be alone out here."
"I won't be gone long." Josh said. "Besides, Jenna would be happy if I brought you along."
Tyler pulled away.
"Why, are you with you?"
"No no." Josh said. "I took her in because she had nowhere to go. She's only a friend."
Tyler frowned; looking down to the ground.
"I'll only be gone for 10 minutes, and I promise you, I'll be right back."
"You promise?"
"I promise."
Josh kissed Tyler's forehead before walking out of the gardens. Tyler watched as he disappeared.
He was afraid he wouldn't return, but he went ahead and sat back down at the magnolia tree; waiting for Josh to return.
