V4:Chapter 3-Deal

As you all entered the inn, with the sound rain hitting the roof, you told the inn keeper that there were four of you and you payed in advance. She led you four to your room and everyone immediately went went to bed. Well, except for you. You got up and went to the bar next door. When you walked in, the place was mostly empty. There a few people at some table and there was a second floor with more tables. As you quickly looked around, you caught sight of a girl with tanned skin, white hair, revealing shorts, an interesting gauntlet on the table that seems to be her weapon, and a pile of lien she was counting. From the looks of it, you could guess a mercenary. Mainly from her counting her lien. You walked over and took a seat across from her at her table that was located at the corner of the room. As you sat down, she looked up.

???: "Can I help you?"

Y/N(G): "Well, I suppose you could."

She rolled her eyes.

???: "If you're here to get in bed with me, then give up and get lost."

Y/N(G): "Get in bed...? No, I believe I'm looking for another service from you."

???: "And what could that be?"

She said that as she continued to count her money.

Y/N(G): "Well... You are a mercenary, aren't you?"

She stopped counting and looked up.

???: "... How do you know that?"

Y/N(G): "Lucky guess."

As silenced followed for a little bit, the waitress came over.

Waitress: "Hello, would you two like something to drink?"

Y/N(G): "Why, yes. Something from top shelf, please. Keep the change."

You handed the waitress some lien that you knew was more than enough. The waitress nodded and went to get you two drinks.

???: "What do you want?"

Y/N(G): "Woah, let's slow down. I'd like to at least know the name of the person I'm about to hire."

The mercenary hesitated for a moment but gave in.

???: "*Sigh*. The name's Bullet."

Y/N(G): "Bullet, huh? What is a mercenary doing this far out from the kingdom? I thought that was where you people get hired."

Bullet: "It is. I just completed an assignment and this was the nearest village."

Y/N(G): "Oh? Care to tell?"

Bullet: "No."

Y/N(G): "Alright. Fair enough."

The waitress came back and gave you two your drinks. You thanked her and she walked off.

Bullet: "Alright... You know I'm a mercenary. So that also means you know I don't do work for free."

Y/N(G): "Oh, I know. I do hope this enough."

You pulled two stacks of the stolen lien you took from the people off the boat. Surprisingly, the people there seemed to have wads of cash in their rooms. Bullet stared at the cash for a bit and looked back at you.

Bullet: "What's the assignment?"

Y/N(G): "Oh, you know. Just your standard hunt."

Bullet: "So... A take down? This isn't enough. I'm gonna need another wad."

Now it was your turn to roll your eyes under your eyelids. You pulled the last wad of lien from your pocket and put it on the table.

Bullet: "Alright... Who am I looking for. It is in Mistral, right?"

Y/N(G): "Yeah. It is. You're looking for an older gentleman who has grey hair that's long, and wears a butler suit lined with gold. Also, he follows a little midget around. I'm sure you can identify him as soon as you see him."

Bullet: "So, you just want me to kill him?"

You leaned back in your chair. You knew that this simple mercenary stood no chance in killing him. However, you did need to use her to locate him.

Y/N(G): "Yes... Definitely kill. But please, do signal your location by launching a flare or... something of the likes."

Bullet: "Alright... You want to signal as soon as I find him and then kill him?"

Y/N(G): "Yup. That's the plan."

Bullet: "Alright. Then consider it done."

She reached her hand out for a shake. You accepted and shook her hand. You stood up and prepared to leave.

Bullet: "Hey! What about your drink?"

You looked back for a moment before continuing your exit.

Y/N(G): "You can have it. Enjoy."

And with that, you returned to the inn.

*Morning*

You were up bright and early. The rest of your team was still resting. You decided that they could rest for now. So, to pass time, you decided to take a better look at the village.

During your time, you managed to circle back to the front of the inn, and decided that now would be a good time to awake your team.

???: "*Gasp*"

You heard running and quickly dodged and was ready to fight. Instead, a blur of red flys past you and crashes into the inn. You quickly recognize that it's Ruby. Looking up, you find the remains of team JNPR.

Ruby: "Owwww..."

Y/N(G): "You guys are still alive...?"

Ruby: "Grazama! It's good to see you too!"

Ren: "What bring you to this village?"

Nora: "Do you live here?!"

Jaune: "Are you alone?"

Y/N(G): "Err, I'm here for a place to rest before me and my team continue our path to Mistral. What are you guys doing here?"

Ruby: "We were headed to Mistral too! We should stick together!"

Y/N(G): "Yeah... Where's the rest of your team?"

Ruby looked down saddened before deciding to answer.

Ruby: "Oh... Well, my sister isn't doing that well and had to stay home because she... had her arm cut off. Blake dissapeared and no one knows where she went. And Weiss was picked up by her father and returned to Atlas..."

Y/N(G): "I see..."

You looked up.

Y/N(G): "Where's the red head?"

You saw all four of them look down in sadness.

Jaune: "She... She gave her life, trying to protect Beacon..."

Y/N(G): "Oh."

You already knew that. But you just wanted to incite a reaction. The silence probably would've been more awkward if your team didn't come out, almost as if on cue, to see what's going on.

Jin: "What's going o-"

He stopped mid sentence to look at the other team.

There was some silence before everyone decided to greet each other.

Ruby: "Well... Since we're all heading to Mistral, I think it would be best if we all stick together. Do you guys think so too?"

Y/N(G): "Why, yes. We agree. Let's continue our journey, shall we?"

Ruby: "We shall!"
