One of the first things you wanted to test with your improved blades is how the dust works, seeing as how your use of dust and weaponry with it was... surprisingly minimal, considering all of its uses. You grabbed a few crystals, not all but a few. First up was lightning. Able to use Atlesian androids for target practice, you swung at them, noticing a shock effect on contact and when you focus the blade down and point it, it launches an arc of electricity. Fire dust went as you imagined, it created burn marks on contact but when swinging at air, it creates waves of fire that at the direction you swung at. Gravity dust was interesting, seeing as how all you managed with a single blade was a weak recall back to your hand. However, gravity dust in both blades allows a powerful recall, as you tested by stabbing one of your blades on the back of an android and used your other to pull the blade, pulling the whole android. You slashed up when it got close, splitting the robot in two and launching it up as you recalled the other blade, landing on your hand. Hard-light dust was what you expected to make, a defensive barrier. But upon further testing, the hard-light barrier is surprisingly resilient, taking even the strongest of explosives, bullets, and hits that you could find and think of at the moment. Ice dust freezes anything you strike, enabling you to stick someone in place or disable them for a moment.

You had gotten a small pouch for the crystals and got two of each previously mentioned dust. You decided that one blade would have hard-light dust and the other would have lightning at the moment. As you exit the arena, you were met with Relius.

Y/N(G): "Ah, Relius."

Relius: "Terumi. The Altar is being started up. I have the twelfth prime field at my lab waiting."

Y/N(G): "Alright. Let's get this party started.

You headed to Relius' lab. Once inside, he locked all entrances and pressed a few keys on his keyboard. Shortly after, two tubes came from a new opening in the wall, Noel was already in one of them.

Relius: "Simply step in the tube and relax. The process will be painless."

As you climbed in, a question arose in your head.

Y/N(G): "You fix the doll's plate yet?"

Relius: "Actually, I'm almost done with the repair. It is a good thing you removed it when you did. I fear that if you left it on, it would have fully broken, perhaps to state of being irreparable. Her case is in high quality still so nothing of note there."

Y/N(G): "Alright, so when will the plate be fixed?"

Relius: "It will not be long. Just a few small adjustments and it will be ready."

As the tube started closing, you had one more thing to ask.

Y/N(G): "How's the maiden project going?"

Relius: "I will show you after this procedure."

The tube closes fully. Relius begins typing away on his computer before the machine activates. Green is pulled from your side by tubes and blue from Noel's. Eventually they mix into a central container, loud hissing and cogs turning could be heard before you it suddenly stops, and the blue energy from Noel is given to your tube and Noel receives your green energy. Suddenly you feel a disturbance in Grazama's soul. The procedure ends and you stand up. You look at your fingers and flex them.

Relius: "I assure you that no damage has been caused."

Y/N(G): "Alright but what exactly did you do?"

Relius: "Simply, I merged a part of you and Mu's souls by using your magic, or perhaps Grazama's, as a baseline in the center before using it to open a new receiver in both souls and giving the opposite party's piece."

Y/N(G): "So I won't hear her voice in my head and vice versa right?"

Relius: "No, due to how I managed the souls, you two are bonded but not to the point of full on merging."

Y/N(G): "Alright. Now how's the maiden project going?"

Relius: "Why not take a look yourself? Follow me."

Relius returns the tubes into the wall and shuts it, before opening the entrances again. You accompany him as you make your way down various halls. On one specifically, he enters and you see the blinding design of blank white colors and lights. Various scientists are on scrolls or clipboards. Most simply glance before continuing whatever they were doing. Eventually you two reach a glass window and Relius simply looks. You take a look down and notice a really old women with white hair on a medical bed and various medical equipment near her.

Y/N(G): "Lemme guess. This hag is a maiden?"

Relius: "She is the winter maiden. As of right now, Ironwood only wants her to have contact with Winter Schnee."

Y/N(G): "So, you're deciding for Schnee to have the powers?"

Relius: "Not mine. It was Ironwood's decision. However I do have a back up plan for both the General and myself."

Y/N(G): "What is it?'

Relius gestures you follow and you did. It wasn't too long of a walk this time but he did lead you to a similar looking machine.

Y/N(G): "Great. More tubes."

Relius: "This one is for the transference of maiden powers. In an emergency, we'll have Schnee use it to forcefully take the powers. However, if she's not immediately available, I have two back ups..."

Y/N(G): "The two dolls?"

Relius: "Correct. It should have been three but I'm afraid sector seven acquired one of them."

Y/N(G): "That reminds me of why they're not more of a concern for the General?"

Relius: "Truce. Both Atlas and sector seven made an agreement of a ceasefire shortly after the fall of Beacon."

Y/N(G): "Huh. Anything from your missing doll?"

Relius: "Not at the moment. Anyways, I have to finish the plate repair and get the Altar project fully up and running since we have everything ready now."

You stood thinking before you realized something.

Y/N(G): "So, how will you locate the other three maidens?"

Relius: "I've been creating prototypes for a radar for the maidens. With the winter maiden here and Cinder being the fall maiden, I only focus on finding Cinder. At least, at the moment."

Y/N(G): "How do you know Cinder's still alive? As far as I know, she's dead. She died somehow in the vault with the relic of knowledge."

Relius: "She's alive. I know she is."

Y/N(G): "If you say so."

Relius: "I know so. Anyways, I believe we both have matters to attend to."

Y/N(G): "Yeah. I'll see you again in record time, I'm sure."
