After a few more days of walking, grimm killing, and talking that mainly was Tsubaki and Jin, you all finally found a village.
Tsubaki: "Look! A village!"
After walking in you were immediately welcomed by another villager, who seemed like a elder.
Elder: "Oh, another group of huntsman. Welcome to-"
Y/N(G): "Another?"
Elder: "Why yes. A few days earlier we had another group of huntsman here. They helped us with a geist that's been plaguing this village."
Tsubaki: "What did they look like?"
Elder: "Well, one was a girl with black and red hair, a blonde boy, an orange haired girl and a boy with black and pink."
Your team looked at one another.
Jin: "Which way did they go?"
Elder: "They went that way."
He pointed to another path. After your team gave each other another look, you could tell they wanted to after them.
Y/N(G): "Well, thanks for telling us. We're gonna resupply here and be on our way."
Elder: "Oh, are you sure you don't want to stay? We can-"
Y/N(G): "Thanks for the offer but no."
After your team rejuvenated themselves, you were about to head on your way until you were interrupted by some faunas that appeared to be the village blacksmith.
Blacksmith: "Woah there. Another group of you huntsman people? And you're all leaving already? Wouldn't you all like some work done on your weapons or armor before you go?"
Y/N: "No. We're fine."
Blacksmith: "Are you sure?"
You sighed and turned to your team.
Y/N(G): "Would anyone like something from this smith here?"
After a few moments of silence, you turned back to the blacksmith.
Y/N(G): "Yeah. I'm sure."
Blacksmith: "Well... Alright. Safe travels!"
Jin: "Thanks."
And with that you followed the dirt path. For probably another few days.
*A few days*
You know, now that you realize it, killing grimm isn't really fun. Like at all. I mean, you did get a smidge of enjoyment from blowing some steam off of grimm, but it doesn't really feel the same as killing a person because there's no... Suffering involved. A grimm is a half intelligent beast that fights humans or animals that threaten it. These things rarely get to live long enough for their intelligence to actually grow. Or maybe it's because you've spent days on end killing grimm and you've become oversaturated by it. Either way, the only thing that you even slightly enjoyed on this journey is gone now.
Tsubaki: "Look! Smoke!"
You looked up and there was smoke. Albeit, a very little amount. Regardless, that means a village is up ahead, so you all moved quickly to reach it. However, there was a map in the grass. You quickly grabbed it and caught up with your team.
When you all reached the village within eyesight, the place seemed to be burned and partially destroyed, some smoke from a still lasting fire still going on in the farther end of the city. As you all entered, one thing that immediate to notice is the charred buildings and trees. Along with slashes and a few arrows. Obviously, grimm seemed to have caused all this damage but you didn't think it was completely grimm. There's no way for some regular grimm to cause this much damage with fire. Unless there was a special type of grimm that has fire abilities but you doubt it. At least, around these parts. As your team pushed forward into the village, your eyes landed on a dead person laying back on some broken debris. As you closed in and got a better examination, he appeared to be a huntsman. As you started looking at him closer, some of his wounds don't seem to be from grimm. No, they appear to from weapons.
Jin: "What happened here..."
Tsubaki: "It looks like grimm..."
Y/N(G): "And bandits, apparently."
You showed off the dead body to your team as you recolled at that dirt patched and made sure to highlight the weapons wounds.
Tsubaki: "It would appear so..."
You all looked at one another and silently agreed to keep moving forward.
Your team has been travelling with less sleep so you all could make more progress. However this does seem to take a significant toll on Tsubaki and Jin. However, as you guys passed a rock cliff, grimm showed up. This was standard procedure at this point. Everyone pulled out their weapons and got ready...
After a surprisingly large amount of grimm, you returned your knives inside your pockets and brushed your coat off of any dust. You looked back to the other three.
Y/N(G): "I heard there's a village with a inn that's just a little more from here."
Tsubaki: "How do you know that...?"
Y/N(G): "This map."
You pulled a map out of your pocket and showed it to them.
Tsubaki: "Wh... Where did you get this?"
Y/N(G): "At the entrance of that decimated village."
Jin: "And you decided not to tell us because?"
Y/N(G): "Well, I thought that me telling you was unnecessary."
Jin: "Why?"
Y/N(G): "Well, I thought you all put trust in me as your leader."
Tsubaki: "Well... Yeah. We do. But you've got to notify us of this stuff."
Jin: "She's right."
Y/N(G): "Fine, since it's such a big deal, I will be more vocal on future findings, ok?"
Tsubaki: "Yes, thank you."
Y/N(G): "Anyways, this village, a little bit more and we make it to a place with a a roof over our heads."
Jin: "Well, alright. Let's get going."
As the sun set and sound of footsteps filled your ears as animals went to sleep, you saw a rain drop fall in front of you... And then, a downpour.
Y/N(G): "Great... My suit's definitely gonna be ruined now."
Jin: "If we pick up the pace then we'll spend less time in the the rain."
You all agreed and, with renewed vigor, moved quickly to the upcoming village.
