V4:Chapter 1-Recollection

*Back to the fall of Beacon*
After returning to Vale from some sort of mandatory evacuation point, you met up with Jin and Tsubaki. Ignoring their questions about the doll, you asked around for a boat to Mistral. Finding only disappointment, you decided to stay at Vale for the time being. With various familiar people passing by, such as Jaques Schnee to pick up Weiss, Ruby passed out being carried by her uncle and Blake turning tail and leaving, your options were limited. After giving Jin and Tsubaki a vague answer about Noel, you found shelter for the time being. It seems like you're gonna be here for a while.

*Timeskip, one week*
It appears any transportation going to the other kingdoms is not possible. At least not any more. The only official route that's allowed is to the island of Patch. With no other choice, you looked towards some shady people to see if you could find a way to Mistral. When you reached the harbor, a man in a trenchcoat overheard your need. He offered to take you and your friends for some lien and patience.

Y/N(G): "So, how long will we have to wait until we can go?"

Man in trenchcoat: "The boat will arrive in winter."

Y/N(G): "Winter? That's a bit of a while away, don't you think?"

Man in trenchcoat: "*shrugs*, it's all you got. Besides, boat routes are closed until winter anyways. It's also almost winter right now, so it'll only be a little bit. And I've heard no word of bullheads arriving."

Y/N(G): "I see..."

Man in trenchcoat: "Well, here."

The man gave you four poorly made tickets with a signature on it.

Man in trenchcoat: "Show that to the captain, and he'll let you in, no questions asked."

You nodded and the man walked away.

*Timeskip, winter*

With the arrival of winter and a blanket of snow, you and your new found team went to the harbor. With a ship waiting there, the captain stood by. You walked up and showed him the tickets. He simply nodded and handed you a paper with your room number. Despite getting your tickets from someone shady, the boat seemed to be of pretty good quality. With proper... everything.

Tsubaki: "It's good to finally go out and see something new. I got tired of seeing the same rubble and broken down buildings."

Jin: "I am also tired of being forced to help rebuild..."

Mu: "..."

The doll's sword quietly floated behind her.

Tsubaki: "So, we're heading to Haven, right?"

Y/N(G): "Yes."

Jin: "What for?"

Y/N(G): "Stuff of the highest importance."

Jin: "Ok..."

Tsubaki: "Well, can you be more specific?"

Y/N(G): "No."

With that, the conversation ended. When you entered the room in the ship, it was decently sized, for being in a ship. It had four beds and a closet. There was a window with blinds to look out into the sea. A bathroom was down the hall. While everyone else got set up to rest, you went up to go find something to eat. When you got up to the dining area, you found fried fish and other seafood. You took some snack items and ate. While heading back to your room, you saw two shady people exchanging what appeared to be drugs. Now you get why this is shady. When returning to your room, Tsubaki and Jin were already asleep. Mu floated, seemingly waiting for you.

Y/N(G): "Go ahead and rest, doll. It's gonna be awhile before we head to land."

Mu nodded and got on her bed. You got on yours as well. For the time being, you thought about your next set of actions...

*Timeskip*

You were recently dropped off and headed towards... Somewhere. You forgot to bring a map of the area so you were just following the trail in the forest. Luckily, during your voyage to this continent, there was little issue. You've heard about the threat of a grimm sea dragon but luckily, none showed up so you were good. This walk seemed like it was gonna be a long one so you decided that, before you left, you would take it upon yourself to steal some supplies from the other passengers of the boat for yourself. Now with extra supplies you were certain your team would manage until the next village you find.

Tsubaki: "I still don't understand why we're heading to Haven..."

Y/N(G): "Hey. Would you rather still be stuck at Vale?"

Tsubaki: "I suppose not."

Jin: "I think we should talk about more pressing matters... Do you guys think that the rest of the world will blame Atlas?"

Y/N(G): "Yup."

Jin: "Why?"

Y/N(G): "I mean, isn't it obvious? Before communication fell, the last thing everyone else saw was Atlas bots destroying and killing innocents. Then when communication fell, there was no way for the other two kingdoms to even try to talk to Atlas, so they are most likely on their toes."

Jin: "I see."

All of a sudden, grimm appeared from the foliage of the forest.

Y/N(G): "Also. Do me a favor. Please try not to think about it. If you do, these encounters are gonna be more common than they have to be."

After some more grimm killing and walking later, the fatigue started to set in for the team.

Tsubaki: "I believe now would be a good time to rest. We've been walking and killing for hours, there's still no signs of a village, and it's getting late."

Y/N(G): "You sure you can't walk for, like, another hour?"

Jin: "I concur with Tsubaki. I am getting tired."

Y/N(G): "Fine. We'll set up camp here and sleep for the night."
