(Two days later)
Cortez was once again greeted by Camila's father. He trusted Cortez like a son. He told him that Camila was in her room.
"Has she ever come out?" Cortez asked.
"No. Being the stubborn woman she is, she's never once come out of it," her father told him. "She's been hurting herself too and for what? Idiot is going to kill herself."
Cortez went to her room and opened the door. He found her looking at the other side of the bed and put her hand there. He heard her sigh and looks towards the window. Camila was so tempted to escape. Cortez knocked on the door and walked in.
"You really have been hurting yourself," Cortez said.
"Did he tell you that?" Camila asked.
"Yes. Guessing from that reaction that isn't true."
"No.... It's not. He's been beating me. Every time he comes in he knows that I've been thinking about them. He wants me to forget."
"Tonight. It will be tonight."
Cortez was just about to head downstairs and take one more look around to make sure the plan was set. Before he left, Camila grabbed him. She hugged Cortez and laid her head on his shoulder.
"I'm doing this because he wants be to get more attached to you. It doesn't mean a thing other than thank you, okay? So don't get ideas."
"Okay," Cortez replied.
Camila's father saw what happened by looking through the security feed. He had no idea what they had really said because they spoke so quietly. He smiled at the thought of what it might have been since she hugged him and let him hug her back.
(With Epifanio)
Epifanio was looking at pictures of him and his wife on his phone. He was really worried about her. Just then, Cortez sent him a video. Cortez had managed to record some of the security feed and send it to Epifanio. He also sent that she really wanted to see him and Isabella again. Epifanio watched the video. It was when Camila first went there. Epifanio saw her father tell her that she'd never see them again and Camila broke down.
"One way or another, I'm going to get her back from you," he said to himself.
(In Camila's Room)
Camila got up and left the room. It was the first time she had stepped out of there. She walked down the stairs to find Cortez and her father in the living area.
"Look who finally decided to get out of that room of theirs," said her father.
She didn't dare look at him. Instead, she looked at Cortez. Her father saw their gaze and thought that she had finally moved on. Yet he knew better, and he knew that it was only an act. Only for so long would it be. Her father intended to make sure that her acting would end. Camila walked towards the door.
"Trying to escape?"
"No. There's no point. They're probably thinking good riddance by now. If they really did still care, they would have tried to get me out of here. It's been a week and nothing. They don't care, so why should I."
Cortez was shocked. What the hell was that supposed to mean? What she said sounded so real. It didn't sound anything like she tried to fake it. Cortez got up and put his hand on her shoulder. Her eyes said differently. She didn't mean what she said. Her eyes gave such a somber look that it was hard to tell from a distance.
