(Late at night)

Camila was sitting by the fireplace, Epifanio by her side. Neither of them noticed they were being watched.

"I have eyes on them now. They're alone, and all of the security are at property borders switching shifts," said Pecas.

"Don't strike yet. Wait. Camila needs to be alone by herself. Epifanio can't be around. We need him alive to use as a pawn. As for her, make sure she doesn't get back up," said the other over the phone.

"Alright," Pecas answered, looking back through the window. "One of my men got caught. She recognized him."

"What did you do with him?"

"Killed him. Can't have any problems."

"Good, good. Is she alone yet?"

"Epifanio just left the room."

"Strike now. Go, you don't have much time."

Pecas hung up the phone and ran inside. He shot Camila and ran for it. Epifanio ran to Camila's side and help was called. It would take a few minutes to get to where they were. He wasn't sure if Camila would make it or not. Epifanio held his hand over where she'd been shot in attempt to clot the wound.

"Va a estar bien. Lo prometo, (It's going to be okay. I promise.)" said Epifanio.

After what felt like an hour, Camila was rushed to the hospital as fast as possible. Epifanio was pacing in the waiting area of the hospital. He was really worried. Isabella was at home for her protection, no matter how much she had asked if she could go and see her mother. The nurse walked up to him.

"How is she?" he asked.

The nurse only stared for a minute before reaching in her pocket. She pulled out a ring and put it in his hand. It was Camila's wedding ring. The nurse was trying her best not to cry. As it turned out, the nurse and Camila had been friends ever since high school. She was considered an Aunt to Isabella.

"I'm sorry," was all she said.

"Dammit!" Epifanio yelled.

Others in the hospital turned to look at him. Once they realized that he was the governor, they knew something really bad happened. They looked away and made crosses to pray with their hands for safe travels for whoever had passed away.

"I really am sorry. Before she left, she asked me to tell you to make her death not public and to also have a simple funeral. She didn't want a big deal out of it. Just family and friends. She also asked me to make sure you promise that," said the nurse.

"I promise. If you'll excuse me. I'm just going to go home."

"Okay. You be safe out there."

"I will."

(With Isabella)

Isabella was sitting in her room. She couldn't stop thinking about how it would all end. Her father called her and she immediately picked up.

"Dad?" she asked.

"I..... Have some bad news," he replied.

"S-she's gone, isn't she?"

"I'm sorry."

Isabella didn't respond. Instead she just hung up the phone. Isabella's phone had been on speaker. Rosario, who was outside in the hall, heard what her father had said.
