The ground shakes with each step and the dinosaurs' breathing is loud and rasping. The stench of its breath is becoming thicker and the moisture exhaled from it's lungs makes the atmosphere like sitting in a cloud. All I see is the rough green-brown skin, thick, leathery and dry passing by a mere foot away. I gasp involuntarily and its motion stops. We are both statues for a frozen second. Then it turns with a speed I have never seen before and my hide-out collapses on top of me. My flight or fight response is urging action but I make myself lie still in the tangle of twigs and leaves and just pray to God that the misfortune that brought me back through the eons had a greater purpose than making me a snack...
