The 'date'

There he stood, lingering around the school for his friend he was taking out on a date (even though she didn't know it was a date). He anxiously kept looking at the clock, hoping that if he stared at it then time will pass quicker. When the clock hit 1:30 pm, he was frantically packing up his unorganised mess of school supplies and looked down the corridor, waiting for his 'friend' to turn up.

After what felt like ages to him she finally appeared out of the ocean of tall people, well it might as well have been a sea to her because she's only short, and hugged her. They walked down the corridor towards the far exit and walked up on to the field which is permanently scarred with the imprints of kids school shoes. They laughed and joked the entire way but what he didn't know was that she was for some reason rather scared, however, she hid her fear behind her hair and her laughter. Somehow he noticed and kept it to himself.

After the date, he walked her home even though they passed the tram stop where he gets on to go home. They walked together, hand in hand, whilst laughing about her boring teachers. Once they reached her house they talked and hugged on her driveway, the way they looked at each other, they knew that was something special. Something that was there for a reason. Something that was there to last...
