Silence. Still. A large black cloud engulfs the dead , desolate forest , suffocating everything it touches. A shadowy, human shaped ghoul emerged out of the blanket of black as if it was an awakening forest creature after years of slumber. The ruby red eyes of this mysterious specimen gleams through the clouds like giant red exoplanets glowing in the galaxy that surrounds us. Forest fauna stare in bewilderment at this "thing" that stands and watches something in pure desire, the ghoul edges slightly and snaps a twig on the damp forest floor, causing all the animals in seconds swiftly sprint away to find safety for themselves and their young. The human figure weaves between the twisted, tangled trees which are intertwined, never wanting to let go. The dead plants and vines dance in the minimalistic breeze, showing very small signs of life. Suddenly, white beams of hope blast from above, through the shadowy abyss that has overtaken this innocent forest. Within the time it takes to blink, or a new born deer to get distracted, the ghoul floated flawlessly up towards the light, snapping all the diseased branches as if breaking through barriers of entrapment. In this new atmosphere of light, emerged many other ghost looking figures , all looking the same but each slightly different. Once the ghoul was exposed to the bright, happy, and optimistic beams, the shadowy, charcoal coloured body of this fantastic, unique species glowed and shattered, making its body look the same as the others. At that moment, it felt that it didn't need to hide, it felt that it had found its place in life. Where it belonged.
