Chapter three

Day of lock in
Alex's pov
I wake up out of bed and take a quick shower to wake me up and I quickly get dressed then headed down to the kitchen.

"Morning!" I said to my dad "morning." He said and handed me a cup of coffee. "Hey, um.. today's a school lock in so I won't be home." "School lock in? What is that?" "Its a project basically, you get assigned a partner, you head to school at eight then you leave the next day when schools over." "I never heard of that." "Neither have I but I'm already obligated to go." I said and he chuckled. 

I walked over to the cabinet and grabbed a bagel and toasted it up. I sat on the counter with my legs crossed and took a sip of my coffee. My dad walked over to the dinner table and sat down reading the paper. "Anything interesting?" I asked "not yet, oh! well,would you look that?" He said "what?" "The stock market went up ten percent." He said and I rolled my eyes. "Do you work?" I asked "yes. I'm dropping you off and heading straight to work and I get off at five." He asked and I nodded.

"A friend i met is picking me up today, is that okay?" I asked. "Friend? You already made friends?" He asked and I nodded. "Made two. Well, technically I made one and sort of made one." I said. The toaster dinged and I hopped off the counter and grabbed a butter knife and  I spread the cream cheese on the bread. "Can I meet your friend?" "You're gonna scare him away." I said taking a bite and facing him "him? It's a boy?" He asked "He's the friend I sort of made." I said "is he nice?" "Yeah, he gave me a ride home yesterday." "Let me get this straight, you got in a car, with a boy you barley met, and he knows where you live? That's the one rule, you're supposed to follow from your parents. Don't get in a car with strangers." He said

"I know. I know. But dad, we have science together. We worked on a lab and he turned out to be really nice." I said. He gave me a look "I was a teenager once, when a boy is nice to you in high school it means-" "dad!" I said and he laughed, I looked at my watch "okay, we gotta go." I said chugging down my coffee and running to put on my shoes. I grabbed my bag and we got in the car and he drove to school.

Lunch

I sat down next to Brie and she introduced me to some of her friends who were really nice. "Hello ladies." Shawn said standing at the end of the table. "Hi Shawn." Brie's friends said practically drooling. "What do you want Shawn?" Brie said not looking at him. "I just wanted to confirm with Alex that I'll pick her up and drop her off today." He said looking at me. "Oh uh.. yeah. 7:30 right?" I said and he nodded. "I'll be there at 6:30." "Wait what? 6:30? Why?" I asked. "Don't worry about it." He winked and left.

"Why's he picking you up?" One of Brie's friends, I think her name was Joyce. "They're partners for the lock in." "Lucky." All three of them said. I sighed and ate a fry. "Students! Don't forget. Annual lock in is today! Arrive at 7:30, doors will close at 7:50! You will not be released until the next day, when it is the next day you are to remain home to rest and finish up or touch up your assignments, also Please remember teachers are taking attendance. If you are not there you will receive no credit. When you arrive please go to your home room class so your teacher may assist you. That is all, have a nice day."  They said on the announcements. The bell rung signaling it was time to go to class. I sighed knowing it was gonna be a long day.

Schools finally over. I snuck my penny board in, Don't ask how, and I skated home. I opened the door and walked in. I closed the door locking it and ran up to my room. I plopped on my bed and sighed wanting to take a nap but my dad would be home in a few hours and I had to cook for him. I decided to take a nice long bubble bath. I headed to the bathroom with my speaker and blasted my music while I sat in the tub. I got a call and I groaned because the person calling interrupted my music.
