The night was clear so all of Asgard could see it happen. The death of the brightest star would occur within minutes. Families gathered outside of their homes to see the spectacle. In the palace, Odin and Frigga stood with the two princes, Thor and Loki. The boys had been awaiting this moment for months. The chatter of the realm had fallen dead in an instant. It had begun.

The explosion was an array of astonishing colours. The most prominent was a deep shade of crimson. The supernova would last for a while. The people gasped in awe of the beauty. But as soon as it started, it stopped. The sky fell back to is black canvas with small white flecks to light it up. Confused chatter broke out among the people. Frigga and Odin were at a loss for words and couldn't explain to the confused boys what had happened. The people filed back into their homes and went about the night as normal.

The next morning, while everyone was still asleep, Frigga went out into the streets to find an answer. She spent hours looking through all of Asgard, but found nothing out of the ordinary. She turned another corner and heard a noise. Infront of her was a child. The child had chocolate brown hair with a streak of a deep crimson. It was a girl who couldn't be much older than a few years old. The girl wore black pants and a crimson shirt with a pocket. Frigga stepped closer to the child and realized there was something sticking out of it. She reached for the item and the child's deep brown eyes instanty turned crimson. Frigga was now holding a piece of paper that read only one word. "Supernova." Confused, Frigga looked around for any trace of where the toddler came from or how it got there. Unsure and puzzled, she decided to turn to someone who would know the answer for sure. Heimdall.

When Frigga reached the rainbow bridge, Heimdall was already waiting for her. He would know where she came from. He was Frigga's only hope of returning this baby to its family.
"Hello Heimdall, how are you?"
"I am doing well, as for you?"
"I am well. Could you help me with something?"
"Anything for you."
Frigga reached behind her and picked up the child. She explained the entire story to Hiemdall and asked if he knew who's baby it was and where to find them.
"The baby is nobody's. It was brought by the death of the star last night."
Now Frigga was more confused than ever. How could the death of a star bring a child into Asgard?
"I do not understand. How is that possible?"
"It is not, but it happened."
"Who will care for it? Would you Heimdall? I would but the boys are already quite a handfull."
"It would be my honour."
The two exchanged goodbyes and Frigga then returned home. The Sun was just rising. She would have to tell Odin about her find and Heimdall's kind act. The boys would not know about it though, it could somehow endanger them.

Frigga walked into the palace and into Odin's study. Just as she suspected, he was sitting there, not doing much of anything. She proceeded to tell him the whole story and Odin agreed that the boys wouldn't find out about their mother finding her. Of course, they could not prevent them from seeing her as all of Asgard's children met eachother somehow, especially the princes. When the boys emerged from their rooms, the day went on as normal. Thor and Loki were both 4 years old. Later that day, Frigga contacted Heimdall to check in on the child. He had decided to call her Nova.

Years went by and the princes had not yet met Nova. They were 8 years old now. Loki had begun to prove himself more mischevious than ever and Thor fell for all of his tricks. Thor had developed a love for training and enjoyed the time he could spend with Loki without being tricked. Thor grew up to be extremely kind and compassionate. Loki was also compassionate, but not to many. He enjoyed causing trouble and dismay to others. Thor was walking around outside when he saw a snake. He picked it up but the snake turned into Loki and Loki ended up stabbing Thor. Frigga cared for Thor and when he was healed, she made them spending some quality time together. They went to a local park and sat in the grass together. A little girl, about a few years younger, walked over to the boys and introduced herself.
"I'm Nova, what are your names?"
"I'm Thor and this is my brother Loki."
"Nice to meet you. Can I sit with you?"
"Okay."
Thor moved over in the grass and Nova sat down. They talked about their favourite things to do and about themselves. Soon, the moon began to take the place of the Sun. Thor told Nova where they lived and to come over and play soon. They said their goodbyes and the princes returned back to the palace.
"Mother! Loki and I went to the park and made a new friend!"
"That is wonderful, what is their name?"
"Her name is Nova. The has a red line in her hair. I think she is younger than Loki and I."
"Oh that is very nice. She should come play sometime."
Frigga realized the boys had finally met her. There was no more protecting them now. They would be grown enough in a few years to defend themselves though. She was not worried. In fact, she was excited to see her, four years later. She thought that she would be either 6 or 7 years old by now. The crimson streak had apparently not grown out, it might be a mark from the supernova. After all, the prominent supernova colour was crimson.

The next day, there was a knock at the living room door. The guards entered saying a little girl claiming to know the princes was there. Frigga told them to let her in. Sure enough, it was the Nova she suspected it would be. She looked the same, just older. Her eyes and hair were the same deep brown and the crimson streak was just as she remembered. She wore black pants and a black shirt and her nails matched the streak in her hair. She was very beautiful for a 6 or 7 year old. Nova proceeded to introduce herself very politely and explained how she knew Thor and Loki. Frigga summoned the boys and sent the three of them off to play. From Nova's introduction, she realized that she did not say a last name. She was 6 years old and did not mention who her father was either. Maybe she did not know. Frigga contacted Heimdall and he explained that he told Nova to not tell who her father was or her last name. If anyone asked, she was trained to just say "of Asgard." He explained it was for her own safety, many from different realms knew of Hiemdall and that could put her in danger. Frigga was relived that after four years she was still safe.

The three of them remained friends for a very long time. Day after day, month after month and even years later, they still met up at least once a week. They would laugh and practice using their powers on eachother down in the palace training area. Nova practically lived at the palace. Frigga felt a sense of comfort knowing that she could protect Nova now as well. She would be safe for as long as she shall live.
