The sun rose early. It was a sleepless night, I was too anxious about today. There were so many things that could go wrong. Frigga might not want to help us. Odin could be too strong for me to hold off for a few minutes. This could either be our death wish our pardon. Either way, it would go down in just a few simple hours. You know, maybe this wasn't wise. Part of me wishes I had just stayed in the prison so that when I got freed nothing would happen. But no, I had to ruin my life here on Asgard. What am I going to do?
We left to meet Thor at the storage unit. He agreed to eet us there. We set Jane up in a separate room, so Thor couldn't see her yet. He only would see her if he didn't want to help us.
"Brother." That was Thor. He just arrived. I walked out of the back room and locked eyes with him.
"Thor, we need something from you."
"I need you to explain what's going on."
"True. Loki and I escaped prison and have been hiding out here."
"Are you mad?"
"Possibly. Anyway, we need you to please talk to your father about our sentences. We will never be Asgardians again if you don't."
"No! No that's not right Nova."
"I thought you'd say that. Maybe this will change your mind." We walked in to the room that Jane was in. We had her tied up to a chair and duct tape over her mouth.
"Jane! What have you done to her you monsters!"
"She's fine, for now, Help us and you can have her. Don't even think about trying to take her from here, you know I wouldn't let you leave with her alive right?"
"What do you need from me?"I was invisible walking alongside Thor. He was shaking. He thought Jane's safety was on the line, of close he'd be nervous. I felt bad tricking him but Loki and I needed help. Thor was the only way we could get out of this mess. We reached the palace and made our way to the throne room. This was it. The large gold doors opened and there Odin sat, looking fabulous as always. Thor took a deep breath and approached the throne.
"Thor, what has brought you here?"
"Father I wish for you to lift Nova and my brother's punishment."
"Excuse me? I'll shall do none of the sort."
"Father please. They are wrong for what they did but they didn't deserve that, especially Nova. You let Loki go once, why not her? Loki is my brother, father. Please, have it in your heart."
"Thor she murdered people and so has he. This doesn't phase you?"
"It doesn't father. They deserve better. Nova had no idea what she was doing. Loki, Loki has changed so much for the better."
"How can you trust them?"
"I know them better than anyone."
"If I may," Frigga butted in as she walked around the corner. "I believe Thor is right. Loki is my son and I've seen the change in him. Nova is like family to us. She didn't understand what she was doing Odin. Please."
"I'm afraid I cannot. They disobeyed me and the law. I wouldn't let anyone else go so why should I them?"
"Father please."
"THOR! I SAID NO! Be on your way!"
Thor looked down and I tapped him, telling him to just leave. He frowned and his eyes began to tear up. He walked out of the room, Frigga calling after him. When the large gold doors closed behind us, you could hear Frigga yelling at Odin and him yelling back. Thor continued to not acknowledge my existence and walked back, still teary eyed. We reached the base and Loki was standing at the door. Thor was fully crying by now and he just grabbed and hugged Loki.
"I'm sorry brother. I've failed you yet again."
"Thank you for trying." Loki went into the other room and walked out with Jane perfectly fine and unharmed.
"Jane, you're-okay," Thor managed to say through sobs.
"I'm okay. I was doing my friend a favor. I'm sorry."
"Loki? I thought you hated him."
"Vanessa, er-Nova."
"Oh, right."
"Yeah."
"I'm just glad you're okay. I really hoped that hadn't hurt you too badly."
"You really think I'd hurt her huh," I said. Loki and I left and went into another room to give them some privacy. Loki slumped to the ground and I followed. We were prisoners for life. We were going to live like this until they either found us, we die or we surrender. We said goodbye and thank you to Jane and Thor. Loki and I teleported back to our home base and just sat in silence. This was our life forever. Living in fear and on the run. We would never be normal Asgardians again. No, we would be criminals while the planet is thirsty for our blood. Hiding from the law. I dragged Loki into this mess, I had to get him out. He never wanted this to happen. He would never be Thor's equal now. Everyone would look down on him. If he ever got out of prison he would never have a chance at the throne. And to think this was all my fault. I basically have ruined his life, because I was too selfish to face myself.
Loki moved closer to me and grabbed my hand. He was the only reason I was still sane. He was the only reason I haven't booked it back to Earth and taken on a new identity. He is the only reason I haven't turned myself in yet. I can't let him down again, after what I did that time ago. He was a hurt man with a good heart. He only wanted to be loved by his father, but that would never happen now. What would happen now? Would we turn ourselves in? Who knows, from here on out in letting Loki take control because when I tried everything went wrong. I'm just trying to live without ending anyone else's lives. I leaned my head in Loki's shoulder and sighed.
"It'll be okay Nova."
