Tony gathered the Avengers and had them meet in the conference room. As everyone was getting there, Tony was setting up the TV with the news channel Loki saw it on. We all sat down, everyone looked worried. Maybe they would let Loki help plan, he knew them best after all. Loki was helping Tony with the TV and even Loki seemed a little on edge. The TV finally connected to a signal and the static on the screen was replaced with footage of Jötuns running wild through homes, stores and buildings. According to a live map, they were coming to New York. They knew where we were.
  "Alright Avengers..." The planning began.

"The blue aliens are on their way here. We aren't going to go to them, they'll come to us in enough time." Tony began.
"We need a plan of attack and I think, the aliens themselves can help us," Steve continued.
"We love being called that, thank you Steve. Anyway, Loki technically is one, he knows them best," I said.
  "If..." Loki began.
  "If what brother?" Thor asked.
"If you wanted, I could turn into my Jötun form. You guys could study how they work. If you wanted." Loki offered. Was he serious? He hated that part of him.
"Can you control yourself in your snowman form?" Tony asked.
"Indeed. It's the same me just with blue skin and red eyes."
  "Someone get me some ice."

I walked up to Loki, did he know what he was doing? That would be so big for him. He absolutely hated even knowing that he was a frost giant.
  "You sure?"
  "I am."
  "Why are you doing it?"
"I want to do something good...." He trailed off.
"What else Loki?" Was he embarrassed?
"I want to protect you Nova. You've been through too much for someone your age."
"I'm 2 Earth years younger than you quit it Loki. You know I can handle myself though right? If you don't want to, don't do it for me."
"I'm not. I owe them something I guess."
"Loki, you don't have to. I know it's alot."
"I'll be alright. It's not like it'll kill me or anything. I'll still be me, just with a costume on."
  "Alright, if you're sure."
  "I am."

Steve walked in with a bucket of ice. It was apparently more amusing for Tony. Loki could control it most of the time now, The ice just made it easier for him. Loki took a deep breath and stuck his hand into the ice. First his hand turned the Jötun shade of blue, then it made its way up his arm. Within about 30 seconds he was fully blue and his eyes were blood red. His skin was rough and he looked dangerous, but it was still my Loki.
"Are you alright Loki?" I asked.
"Fine." He was not fine, he hated it.

The room fell silent and all eyes were on him. He looked at the ground and did the thing with his hands, it's what he does when he's nervous.
"Nova, I think this was a mistake."
  "Why?"
"It's embarrassing. I'm hideous. Everyone is looking at me, and not in a good way."
"Do you want me to tell them to stop?"
"Not yet, they haven't done anything."
"Tell me when you want me to tell them you need a break."
"I have a voice still Nova."
"But you won't use it Loki."
  "Fair, but this is different."
  "Whatever you say."
"Make this as fast as possible Stark." Loki hissed at him.
"Why? You suddenly don't like the attention?" Tony snickered back.
"I don't have to do this anymore Stark."
  "You don't, stop whenever."
Right when those words left Tony's mouth, a pale peach colour began eating up the blue on Loki's skin. In seconds he was back to normal.
"I guess we're done here then." With that, Loki walked out of the room.

I ran down the hallway after him, but I couldn't keep up with where he was going. I went to his room to see if he went there, and sure enough, he was sitting on his bed when I opened the door. I walked in closing the door behind me and sat down next to him. I grabbed the hand that was in the ice and held it. Colder than normal, obviously but it was still a little shock to me. He mumbled something under his breath and looked away.
  "Loki, you did great."
"They were scared of me again. I could smell the fear coming off them almost."
  "They weren't scared."
"You're telling me they if you were a mortal, you would shudder at the sight of me? I'm hideous Nova!" He was hurt but also angry, a dangerous combination when it came to Loki.
"If you think of yourself that way, fine. But I don't and neither does anyone else. Now I have to go, if you feel like joining us, you're welcome to but not with that attitude."
He said nothing but just looked ashamed. I walked out of his room, I wasn't going to try anymore. The frost giants were on their way, I didn't have time for distractions. This was the real time work, and I was ready.
