  "Your mission!"
What on Earth were they talking about? What mission?
  "Excuse me?"
"Nova, your mission that we were just talking about."
  "I wasn't listening?"
"Oh, Nat here wants to take you with her on her next mission. It'll get you warmed up."
I looked over at Natasha. Was she serious? She actually wanted me?
  "Me?"
  "Yeah you."
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Natasha wanted me to join her on a mission? A world class assassin? Wanted me? An alien?
  "Are you sure?"
"Yeah I'm sure, wanna see what else you can do." She seemed sincere.
"Okay, yeah. That'd be awesome thank you!"
"Thank you, needed some company for this one. You start training tomorrow."
  "Okay, thank you so much!"
I got up and walked out of the room. As I turned the corner, I could hear Tony say "she's adorable" or something along those lines. Maybe I would be welcome here. Maybe, it would be just as good as San Francisco was.

The next morning came early, a little too early. I began training for the mission today. I would really learn how to fight without using my powers. I could of course, it was mandatory on Asgard for everyone to take at least one combat class to defend themselves. I shouldn't be nervous, but something in me told me I should be. I got my outfit on and made my down to the training room. Natasha wasn't there yet so I took a few laps around the gym while I waited for her. When I heard the door from across the gym close I turned and looked. There she was. I still couldn't believe that she wanted me to come with her on this mission. That's crazy! We talked for a few minutes, mainly about my powers and what they could do. Really, I think they could do whatever I want.

We started of with fighting without my powers. I had to be able to lock them away because it could be dangerous in situations with the other Avengers. We started with just simple stuff, hand to hand. No weapons or powers, just our hands. She was good, but you could tell she was struggling to keep up with me, which I guess was a good thing. She got a few hits in but I got more and eventually knocked her on her butt. I helped her up and brushed her off. We laughed and had a good bonding time. We were taking a short break before we started again. This was actually quite fun, and Natasha was super nice.

After a tough day of practicing, I think I had my powers in control pretty well. Yeah, it took alot of practice and yeah, I would still need so much more, but it was worth it. I'd be able to help people instead of hurt them. I feel like when my powers get a little out of hand, I just give up on trying to control them and just don't care what I do anymore. That really needed to change if I was going to be an Avenger. Really needed to. I headed back up to my room when I turned the corner and Loki grabbed my wrist, pulling me into his room.
  "What the actual hell Loki!"
  "Shhh!"
  "What do you want?"
  "Where were you?"
  "Training with Natasha, why?"
"She's intense, anyway, some, uh, friends I guess have touched down halfway across the world."
"What does that mean?" I bet they weren't friendly at all.
"Ugh Nova. Jötuns. They're coming for us on the order of Odin I think."
"Why are they working for Odin?"
"What do you think I am? A witch? I don't know."
"You dress like one. Anyway, how do you even know?"
"Because I am one and I've been almost turning blue and scary lately and it's on a news channel that my tv is set to."
  "Do the Avengers know?"
  "I highly doubt it."
  "We need to tell them."
  "Do we though?"
"Loki stop talking before you get us kicked out! I'm kind of an Avenger now and I would like it to remain that way."
  "Alright, I'll tell Thor."
"In coming with you because I don't believe you will."
"I appreciate your trust in me."
"Just keeping an eye on you."
"You always are Nova, I'm not a child."
"You sure act like one sometimes."
"You're younger than I am though?"
  "Yet I'm the mature one."
"Why are we here again? And not on Asgard?"
  "Watch your tongue, snake."
"You're too cruel for your own good Nova. Not a nice quality."
  "A cold heart isn't either."
  "What is your problem?"
"Nothing, I'm just extremely tired and sore."
  "I told you she's intense."
"I know you did. I'm going to bed, goodnight."
  "Goodnight Nova."
"Wait, no we're telling someone now, let's go!"
  "I was hoping you'd forget."
"You know, if you do something good they might hate you less."
  "I hope they don't."
  "Let's go."

We walked out into the living room and Tony was sitting there. I looked at Loki and he looked back at me. He didn't exactly like Tony that much. I can kind of see why. Tony likes to push Loki's buttons, make him a little angry.
  "Hey, Tony?"
  "What's up?"
I turned to Loki. He took a deep breath.
"Some of my kind have touched down halfway across  the world, most likely looking for Nova and I."
"Damn it. When did you see that?"
  "Close to 9:45pm."
"We've still got time," he mumbled under his breath.
  "Let's go." I said
  "Guess we have to."

Ugh this chapter is so boring and so short but I have good reasons I swear. I wanted to get something out since it's been a while and I needed a filler chapter so the next one can be good ✌️

Thanks to all who still support me!
