After spending the holiday with my family it was time to get back to our regularly scheduled program. Jordan went back to work after that much needed break and Devyn who was waiting to meet with the Atlanta Hawks began training during the day to keep himself in shape just incase he made the team. Thanks to my successful grand opening the beauty bar and boutique was booked and busy. JT was doing amazing as my manager and Chloe was proving herself to be an asset to the shop. And after spending a few happy hours with her and the girls she was becoming a good friend.
Saturday Chloe joined JT, Scottie and I to assist and try on wedding and bridesmaid dresses for Scottie's wedding at one of best bridal stores in the city. We were given champagne as we sat and waited in the luxury sitting area while Scottie picked bridesmaid dresses for us to try. My biggest fear was that she would pick the most horrendous dress for us and I would have to kill her before her wedding, So for her sake she better pick right.
"Alright ladies get your asses up. Your dresses are inside the the booth. Chloe and I will judge."
"Yes! I definitely will be judging." Chloe said cheekily as JT and I side eyed each other anticipating what could either be a beautiful gown or a dress made from hell. I walk in and see a sexy white dress on the hanger. Scottie decided that we wore white since her dress was actually going to be blue so we wouldn't clash. The dress fit my body like a glove.
"Alright ladies let's see'em!" Scottie calls out. We stepped out to give Scottie and Chloe a preview of our dresses. " Damn! Yall look so good." Chloe says.
"All you two look so good. I think these are the ones." Scottie loved how they looked on us and so did we. JT and I got dressed and came back to sit with chloe for Scottie's big dress reveal. After a few minutes she comes out in this beautiful light blue wedding dress embroidered with white flowers.
"So what do you think?" Scottie asks shyly.
"Best friend you look...You look like a princess." I started to cry looking at my beautiful childhood friend as she twirled in the mirror looking at herself. "Scottie girl. When you walk down the aisle in this dress. That nigga gone cry. " JT said as a tear rolled down her own cheek.
"Y'all like it!? I hope shawn does too. I'm really nervous I'm not gonna lie. Every week that goes by getting closer to the date my anxiety goes up."
"Aww! Best friend everything is going to be just fine. That man loves you. The biggest player in Atlanta cutoff all his hoes for you girl. You won!" I reassured her as I hugged her to me.
"Thank you Gee!" She said back to me flashing a smile.
"And from what I heard during a call with Kenzo your own Mr. Michael's sounds ready to cancel his player card for you Giselle." Chloe says to me from the couch next us.
"What did you hear!? Please tell me." I asked slightly nervous
"I'm not going into details, but he and Kenzo were discussing the wedding and Jordan said something about securing his future."
"Are you serious? I didn't think he'd get to that point so soon. Especially knowing what happened with his Ex." Though I would love to be married to Jordan I didn't want him to rush things if he truly wasn't ready. "You know him and Shawn are looking at rings tomorrow? Maybe it's a coincidence and maybe not."
With Scottie's last sentence I had an epiphany. "You know something. I just realized Jordan and my dad stayed outside after we had came in from the lake. You don't think he-"
"Omg! He asked your dad for permission!!" Scottie interrupted with excitement. "Yeah! I think so. That would explain why he's been so happy lately. Hell now I'm nervous."
"You and Scottie and this nervous shit got to go honey. Y'all got the two best men in the family and now y'all nervous. Chile please! Get it together." JT made a point. Jordan and Shawn were two young, successful black men who could have any woman in the world and they chose us. There was really no room for doubt. "JT is right. Y'all have what girl's on the bachelorette would kill for."
"Chloe! Girl black folks don't watch the bachelorette!"
"Well I'm black and I do so I know what I'm talking about."
"Ain't yo mama white!?"
"Yes! JT but that's not the point. Giselle and Scottie have two of the most eligible bachelors in Atlanta who other women would kill for. So! you need to prepare for your wedding day! And you Giselle need to be patient. Cause more than likely a ring is coming sooner or later." Chloe was also right. Our men kissed the ground we walked on. They were the prince charming's that we dreamt about as kids and most importantly they wanted to marry us.
"Actually y'all I'm excited. It might happen soon or later on down the road but if he is proposing whenever that is, I'm ready. Hell after the shit I've been through I deserve me a good nigga with the four D's"
"What the hell is the four D's?" JT asked with a confused expression.
" Dope Dick, Dollars and Dimples bitch!" We all bust out laughing as we clanked our champagne glasses together in agreeance.
"Gee! You crazy girl! But at least we know the conversation about Jarvis and the kiss went well since he's ready to propose." Scottie said for certain that her statement was accurate, but when my eyes never met hers she realized that wasn't the case as she sighed out loud. " Giselle! Please tell me you told him about the kiss."
"I- I wanted to so bad, especially after the day it happened and I thought Jordan found out and left me. I was in tears until Jordan showed back up after grabbing breakfast for us. That was the day he showed me my billboard. But when Jarvis showed up with Tika and acted as if it never happened I didn't want to dwell on the past when my future was so bright. Jarvis and I have no reason to speak in fact I blocked him. But y'all are looking at me like I'm fucking crazy so somebody please tell me I'm not wrong." My voice was slightly raised as I began to tear up at the uncertain expressions on my friends face's.
Chloe put her arm around me as she sat next to me. But Scottie was first to speak up. "Giselle! I completely understand not wanting to mess up what you have, but imagine Jordan went to console Ashlyn because her baby died. But then she kissed him and he kind of had feelings for her because of it. How would you feel if he never told you?"
"I would feel betrayed." I said knowing that him not telling me even if the feelings were only temporary would still hurt.
"Before you allow Jordan to propose to you tell him the truth. Explain it exactly how you did to us. You don't wanna go into something as serious as marriage with secrets. Unless you committed murder bitch don't tell no fucking body, especially me ain't no telling what my ass got records for." Her last sentence made us all laugh but she was telling me the truth. I owed Jordan the right to know what happened. The guilt would eventually eat me alive anyway.
"I'll tell him soon. I have to now that I know how serious he is. I'll do something nice for him away from the house since Devyn is here and I will tell him exactly what happened."
"I think that's a good idea Giselle. I can tell he loves you and as long as you're truthful he'll understand." I nodded and smiled at chloe hoping she and the rest of the girls were right. But my gut was telling me otherwise.
