After months of working countless days and nights on my Pediatric Center the big day was here. The Center would be opening this Monday following tonight's Gala to introduce my big business venture to my family, friends and esteemed colleagues. Scottie was spearheading the event so I already know it will be one for the record books. Also tonight we would be revealing the Name of my center and the Ad that Devyn did, which would be put on billboards all over the city and around the Phillips Arena.
Though this was one of the biggest and happiest days of my life, getting ready for it wasn't easy. And to make matters worse Giselle and I have been going back and fourth about how she's been eating like she has a tapeworm over the past month.
"Aye! Bae have you seen my shoes?"
"No I have not seen your shoes. Where was the last place you had them?"
"I sat them right here by this window, are you sure you didn't move them when you were over here?"
"No I didn't move anything. Check under the bed babe."
I ran my hand under the side of the bed searching for my shoes. My fingers grazed past something hard and I grabbed on to it and pulled it out. It was my shoes I had been looking for over the past fifteen minutes.
"I found them. They were under the bed."
"Mhmmm! Were they really!?" She said sarcastically.
"While you tryna be funny don't you think you need to put down that bag of cookies. You got a dress to fit into remember!?"
"Exscuse me!?" Giselle said as she stared at me pointedly in the doorway of the closet.
"I don't know what you have stuck up your ass, but you been really up mine about what I eat. Don't worry I'm gonna fit into my dress but you need to get yourself together bruh!"
Damn. She really snapped on my ass. And in our nine month off and on relationship I been called a few things, but "bruh" Was a new one. Giselle was right though. Half of me was confused on this change in her diet, but the other half of me wanted everything to be perfect from the event down to how we looked. I even started getting on her about keeping her weight down. I had offended her which wasn't my intention's. Giselle was perfect to me and I was being a dick.
"Listen baby I'm sorry alright. It's just I been working so hard on this Pediatric Center and ended up quitting my job at the hospital to focus on this, I just need everything and Us to be perfect. Please forgive! Please!?"
I turned my head to the side and gave her the best sad puppy face I could knowing she couldn't resist. She was my Queen and I didn't need her to be mad at me anymore.
"Stop making that face. You know what it does to me." She said as I saw the anger in her face dissipate. She even tried to hide her smile.
"Come here little boy." She beckoned me to her and I went willingly to her as she placed both hands on my face.
"Listen to me, tonight will be perfect okay? You already know Scottie is going to do the damn thing on the event, and with your Medical connections and Shawn's celebrity friends the turn out will be amazing. You already have the parents from the hospital ready to bring their kids to you and with your fine self and my brother as your endorser who could charm anybody, everybody is going to want to take their kids to the best pediatrician in the city."
