Colleen's POV
I'm so freaking excited for today!  I'm diy-ing it up in here and all the crap we ordered from Amazon for the nursery is finally here.  Erik and I are gonna get this shit done.
The nursery walls are already painted a pastel purple thanks to my lovey.  The floors are the same as the rest of the house, hardwood.  We bough a white fluffy rug for the floor, similar to the one in my office.  White is not a good color for kids but oh well!  The theme is sunflowers and purple; basically all I love for.  Erik didn't care what we did and agreed sunflowers would be cute.  With all his interior decorating skills, he's been a huge help actually executing it.
I spend the morning making adorable wall decorations.  I don't like to spend a lot of money, so the only things we really wanted to splurge on were car seats, a stroller, cribs, and a bassinet because the babies' safeties come first.  All the decorations can be cheap as fu.
Erik spends his morning slaving away over IKEA cribs.
I spend my morning making signs to hang above each crib.  I ordered really cheap sunflower wall decals which I am instead sticking to paper.  I write each girl's name on one in half decent handwriting.  Each sunflower will get framed in some Target frames we're taking the glass out of. I actually like how they turn out.

I also print two quotes on pieces of purple paper that I then modpodge to canvases to hang on the wall. One says "and though she be but little, she is fierce" and the other "let her sleep for when she wakes she will move mountains." Erik doesn't know what quotes I'm using, but I think he'll be really excited since the mountains one is Shakespeare. I also make a canvas by just gluing patterned scrapbook paper to it to hang between the quotes. They will do above the changing table. The whole set up turns out great.
