We flew to America to film my episode of Brooklyn 99, and I had an absolute blast the entire time. I could tell that Tom had an absolute blast on set, and the two of us were so happy to be experiencing this.
We were told the episode would air in late April, which meant that it would be during a time we weren't too busy so we could watch it.
Coincidentally, shooting for my episode ended a few days before Thanksgiving, so we decided to fly back home and surprise my parents for the holiday.
As I stood on the front porch and rung the doorbell, Tom wrapped an arm around me. "I'm excited to celebrate my first Thanksgiving with you and your family."
"I'm excited to be with you for your first one, too," I whispered, and I smiled as I heard the door open.
"Oh my gosh!" I smiled as my mom pulled me into a hug. "What are you guys doing here?"
"I was shooting a project in California, and we decided to surprise you. You have room for us at the Thanksgiving table this year?" She nodded with a smile as she let go and stepped aside.
"Come on in, you guys." As we brought our bags inside, Tom pulled my mother into a hug.
"I'm so happy to see you, Ms. Diana."
"Oh, Tom, Diana is just fine." She chuckled as we set our bags to the side. I wanted to get right into talking with my parents, so we would put our bags in my old room after we were done.
After we said hello to my dad and we sat down, my mom smiled as she sat next to my dad. "Are you guys excited about the baby?"
"Oh, definitely." Tom smiled as he wrapped an arm around me. "Sure, it may be a bit earlier than we anticipated, but we just can't help but feel thrilled to become parents."
"Exactly. Plus, you know me, mom. I've practically had baby fever since high school." She chuckled with that and nodded, and Tom smiled as he pressed a kiss to my cheek.
"Do you guys have any preference towards the baby's gender?" My dad looked at the two of us.
"I don't, no. Baby?" I looked back at Tom, who shook his head.
"Neither do I. In all honesty, all I want is for our child to be happy and healthy." He smiled as he pulled me close and pressed a kiss to my head. My parents smiled at the two of us.
"I can't believe that my baby is having a baby." A tear rolled down my mom's cheek, and I chuckled gently. She always cried as she watched me, and it was something that I found super sweet.
"Oh, come on mom. I'm still gonna be your baby." As she wiped a tear, I blew her a kiss, and Tom smiled as he pulled me close.
Once Christmas passed, I was right back into the swing of Eternally Hunted and Tom was in the process of filming another James Bond film. The only time we got together was when we came home each night, and most of that was spent quietly enjoying each other's company.
We were lucky to find a day a little bit after my five-month mark where we were both free for a mid-term sonogram. As I got settled for the sonogram, he took my hand with a smile. "I love you, Grace."
"I love you too, Tom." I smiled, rubbing his hand gently. He pressed a kiss to my forehead as the appointment began.
After our appointment finished, we went shopping for materials for our gender reveal, and I made sure to text the picture to both my family and Tom's family before it went up on Instagram.

As we sat down on the couch, Tom pulled me close and rested his hands on my tummy. With my now clear baby bump, this was his new favorite way to hold me. I opened a fresh jar of pickles, and he chuckled softly. "You and your pregnancy cravings."
"Hey, it could be worse. My mom would eat these covered in peanut butter when she was pregnant with me." He made a face at that, and I chuckled as I pressed a kiss to his cheek. As we sat, I felt a nudge on my belly. "Holy shit, Tom. I think she's kicking."
"Oh my gosh!" I smiled and guided his hand to where I felt the kicks, and I smiled as she kicked against his hand. I looked back to him and saw a tear in his eye. "Will it be weird if I talk to her?"
"Not at all." He smiled, standing up and moving so he was kneeling in front of the couch. He pushed my shirt up slightly so my bump was bare, and he pressed a kiss to it gently.
"Hi there, baby girl." He chuckled as he held onto each side of my belly. "I just want you to know that your mommy and I love you so much already, and we can't wait to meet you." I smiled as I began playing with his curls, and he smiled up at me before looking back down at my belly. "And I know that you're your mother's daughter already, so you'll be as beautiful as she is, if not more." After pressing another kiss to my belly, he got back up on the couch.
"I love you, Tom."
"I love you more, Grace." He smiled as he pressed his lips to mine.
