I sat down to do my makeup, and Tom smiled as he sat behind me and pulled me into his lap. "Mind if this is how we sit today?"
"Not at all." I chuckled, and he smiled as I began the process.
"I missed doing this." He said gently as I started blending my concealer into my foundation.
"Have you?" I smiled at him in the mirror, and he nodded.
"I have. It's still so interesting to watch." He grinned, and I smiled. "What are you thinking for your eyes tonight?"
"I was thinking about letting you do it," I said truthfully as I grabbed my setting powder. He raised an eyebrow, and I smiled. "As long as you blend it all out, eyes are easier than you'd think. Plus, you've glued my eyelashes on before. That requires a lot more precision."
"Were you really considering that?"
"I was. You want to?" He nodded slowly, and I smiled as I finished setting my foundation and concealer. "Okay. Here." I turned around so I was facing him, holding up an eyeshadow palette and my eye brushes.
As Tom worked on my eyes, we just chatted about whatever we could think of. We avoided the situation regarding Annabelle, knowing that would only bring out our negative thoughts and that was not why we were doing this.
"I think I'm done." Tom smiled, and I grinned as I grabbed my hand mirror.
"It looks wonderful, baby." I smiled as I looked at it, pressing a kiss to his cheek.
"I don't trust myself to do your eyeliner, so I'll let you do that." I chuckled at that, smiling as I turned back around.
As I kept doing my makeup, the two of us kept a light conversation going, and that continued throughout the night.
"I know you haven't been on set since everything started, but how was Bond going?" I smiled as our waiter took our orders and menus back at the restaurant we had decided on.
"It was going really well. I felt like a badass all the time."
"You are a badass, Tom." I smiled, and he chuckled.
"You constantly call me a dork and a loser. How can I be those and a badass at the same time?"
"You have your dorky moments and your badass moments." I smiled, and he chuckled.
"Fair enough." He smiled as the waiter came with our drinks. He lifted his glass of wine, and I smiled as I tapped mine to his. "To us."
"To us." I grinned before I took a sip. Because of her health situation, Annabelle was not at the point to breastfeed yet, so I had been pumping breast milk and storing it. I decided to drink tonight and then just get rid of the milk I pumped tomorrow so alcohol didn't get in her system at some point later on.
"There is something that I do quite frequently in the new Bond film that you'll enjoy."
"Oh?" I smiled at him, and he nodded.
"Double-Oh-Seven adjusts his cufflinks quite often." He winked gently, and I smiled.
"I still stand by the fact that you better do that at our wedding." He chuckled, and I shrugged. "You look hot as fuck while you do it."
"Don't I always?"
"Of course, but there's just something about those cufflinks, babe." I smiled, and he chuckled.
"I'm not the only loser in our relationship, you know." I nodded at that with a cheeky grin, and he smiled. "God, you're so beautiful."
"Thank you." I grinned, and I took his hand across the table. "I'm so glad your mom pushed us to do this. We really did need it."
"We did." He smiled as we laced our fingers. "I have a question for you."
"Yes, baby?"
"I know giving birth is an ordeal, and it causes pain down there."
"Are you asking if I'm okay to have sex tonight?" He shrugged playfully as he took a sip of his wine.
"Get you a girl who can read your mind." I laughed at that as he smiled.
"We'll have to see." I winked as I took another sip of wine, and he grinned.
"Alright then."
As I woke up the next morning, I smiled up at Tom. I reached up and ran my fingers through his hair, and I grinned as I saw his eyes open. "Morning, my darling."
"Good morning, my love. I really enjoyed last night." He winked softly at that, and I chuckled a bit. "Dork."
"I enjoyed it too." I grinned, and he pressed his lips to mine softly. As we pulled away a moment later, I smiled and kept playing with his hair. "You really like doing that, don't you?"
"Always have. Your hair is just so nice and soft." He chuckled as I smiled.
"Thank you." He looked at the time, biting his lip. "Visiting hours start soon."
"They do." I took a deep breath, pressing a kiss to his cheek as I stood up. "Did your mom ever get any updates?"
"Let me see." He grabbed his phone so he could look through his texts. "Nope. She said they didn't run any more tests after we left."
"Oh." I nodded as I grabbed a shirt and slipped it on.
"Yeah. But she did send me a picture of her holding onto her finger." He stood and brought his phone over, and I smiled widely at the picture.
"She's so precious."
"That she is, my love."
As we sat in the hospital with her, I noticed that I had a call coming in. "Hey, Ryan."
"Hey, Grace. Beth told me what's going on with Annabelle. You two must be so pissed."
"Oh, believe me, we are beyond livid at the doctors who didn't tell us anything."
"I would be too. Did you guys enjoy your date last night?" His tone was light, yet there was an air of caution to it.
"How did you know about that, Ryan...?" Tom raised an eyebrow at my question.
"Put me on speaker. Tom needs to hear this." As I did, I could hear him sigh. This wasn't good.
"Ryan, how'd you know that we went out last night?" Tom raised an eyebrow as he heard my question, and I heard him sigh again.
"E! News."
Let me know your thoughts! :-)
