Forty-Six

For our honeymoon, instead of just going to one place for an extended period of time, we decided to take an international road trip to the places that mean the most to us and just be as madly in love as ever.

When our flight landed at the Dublin Airport, I nudged my husband's arm gently. Wow, that was a term I could definitely get used to. "Baby, we've landed. Wake up."

As his eyes fluttered open, he smiled up at him. "It's honeymoon time, darling."

"Definitely." I smiled, pressing a kiss to his forehead.

"Damn, that feels nice. I know why you like it so much now." I chuckled at him as he took my hand, lacing our fingers together.

"It's wonderful." As the plane pulled to the gate, I smiled. "So, what are we doing first?" I knew that the Holland family often spent time in Dublin and it was one of Tom's favorite places, so Tom said that he would take charge of this leg of our honeymoon.

"Our rental condo is right by this beautiful pier that ends at a lighthouse. It's a gorgeous walk." I smiled and nodded as we stood up.

Once we put our luggage in the condo, Tom and I made our way to the pier. As we walked with our hands tangled together, he smiled at me. "So, my darling, I have an email from Kevin Feige."

"Oh?" I grinned at him.

"He said that because it's our honeymoon, he didn't want to interrupt us by calling, but he has some big news for us."

"Did he say what it was?"

"Guess what power couple is gonna be back on the big screen?" I smiled widely.

"On whose terms?" He chuckled, pointing to himself.

"My third Spider-Man movie." I smiled and kissed his cheek, and he squeezed my hand. "He also said we can announce it whenever and however we want."

"My favorite nerd is coming back. I'm so excited." He rolled his eyes playfully, and I smiled widely as I laid my head on his shoulder as we walked. "I love you, baby."

"I love you too, darling." As we walked, we just chatted about whatever came to mind. We had our whole lives ahead of us, and it was something I looked forward to eagerly.

When I woke up the next morning, I smiled over at Tom. He was still asleep, holding me close. I kissed his cheek gently, pushing some of the curls from his face so I could admire him.

I was so fucking lucky to finally marry my soulmate, and it was something I'd cherish for the rest of my life.

About five minutes later, I saw his eyes open, and he immediately cracked a wide smile. "Morning, darling." Damn, that morning voice got me every time.

"Morning, baby. I think I found a waffle maker in the kitchen when I looked last night." His smile grew even wider, and I chuckled softly.

"Sounds delicious." As always, as I prepared the waffle mix, Tom had his arms around my waist and his chin hooked onto my shoulder. "I love you."

"I love you too." I grinned as I finished, spooning some of the mix into the maker and closing it.

"You look adorable this morning, by the way. Wanna have a mini photo shoot while we wait?"

"You know me so well."

When I saw the comment from E! News, I sighed and set my phone down. "Damnit!" I angrily pulled the finished waffle out of the waffle maker, pouring the mix for another one in.

"Darling..." Tom's voice was soft as he placed his hands on my shoulders. I relaxed immediately with his touch. "Please don't let them get to you. Both of our parents told us they'd watch her."

We had initially planned to bring Annabelle on our honeymoon, but our parents had told us that our honeymoon was a time for the two of us to celebrate our love. Tom's parents would be watching her for the first half, and my parents would have her for the second half of the trip.

"Can we call your parents? I think hearing she's okay will help me feel better."

"Of course." He pressed a kiss to my head as I smiled, pulling the waffle out when it was finished.

"Hello, love. Is everything okay?" I heard Nikki's voice on speaker, smiling gently as I took the waffles to the table.

"Almost. How is our little princess doing?"

"Absolutely amazing. She's as smiley and bubbly as ever." I let out a sigh of relief. "Grace? Are you alright?" I heard the concern in her question, and I nodded.

"Yeah, I am now. We just had some online backlash for not bringing Annabelle along with us, and I got worried we made the wrong decision."

"Honey, I promise that you did not make any wrong decisions. A honeymoon is a time for newlywed couples to celebrate each other. Let us and your parents take care of our precious granddaughter."

"Thank you, mum. We love you."

"We really do." I smiled gently at that as Tom grabbed silverware for our dinner.

"Love you guys too. Now, go enjoy your honeymoon! Just promise me one thing?"

"Of course, Nikki."

"No more babies. Let Annabelle have the spotlight for a little bit, okay?"

"Mum!" I laughed as Tom's jaw dropped, and I heard her chuckle.

"We promise, Nikki." I grinned as we both sat down.

Just a heads up--updates will most likely slow down. Classes begin on Monday for me, so I'll be making sure to handle them before getting to updates. I still have plenty of passion for this story, but of course, my degree comes first.
