With Mamma Mia! being less than a week away, I was surprised they actually let me have a day off to spend with my housemates. We had all been watching 10 Things I Hate About You while it rained. It was a nice casual way to spend a relaxing day.

That is until a flash filled the gloomy sky and the power suddenly shut off. "Fuck." I had already been holding Tom close, but I pulled him even closer to me at the sound of a loud clap of thunder.

"Do you wanna be the little spoon now, baby?" He whispered in my ear, and when I nodded, we immediately maneuvered so that he was holding me instead. I heard the sound of someone getting up and rustling around in a closet nearby, but all I did was focus on my breathing as I cuddled into him.

"Here, take this and go to the room you guys are in. I know you like to have privacy when you get like this, Gracie." Ali handed me a battery-powered camping lantern, and Tom smiled as he stood and guided me up.

"Thank you, Ali. We'll be back out once everything settles." Tom smiled as we hugged her quickly, and he guided me to our guestroom. As we sat on the bed with the lantern in front of us, he pressed a kiss to my head. "Do you wanna talk, or are you in a quiet kinda mood today?" Sometimes I would want to talk with him during storms, and sometimes we would just sit in silence. It really just depended on how I was feeling.

"Sometimes I wonder if storms are a sign from Chris," I said out of the blue, and he looked at me.

"What do you mean?"

"Well, storms always happen before and around big events in my life. It stormed right before we met, it stormed when I said I love you for the first time," I heard him sigh at that, and I pulled him closer, "and, without fail, at some point within the week before a performance, it storms. It's like he knows and is sending me a sign every single time."

"But, you hate storms? Why would he...?" I could understand why he was confused. It was a weird correlation.

"He loved them. Storms were his thing, and before he was gone, he would always call me during a storm and we'd talk about it as it was happening. I sometimes think that if I were older at the time of his death, I wouldn't be afraid of them." I took a deep breath at another flash of lightning came.

"I'm sure he was wonderful, my darling. And I have full faith that it'll storm the night before our wedding." I chuckled and nodded at that.

"Yeah. He's too nice to bring one the day of." That brought a from Tom, and I smiled. "I love you, Tom."

"I love you more, Grace."

The day before Mamma Mia!, we had our final dress rehearsal. I usually felt no nerves around dress rehearsals, but this was definitely different. With thirty minutes to go until we started, Emily came over to where I was stretching. "What's on your mind?"

"What do you mean?" I looked up at her, and she gave me a kind smile as she sat down next to me.

"I've seen you stretch for months, honey, and I've never seen you twiddle your fingers as you stretch. Something's definitely troubling you. Would you like to talk about it?"

"I'm usually never this nervous for a dress rehearsal. I'd expect the emotions I'm feeling from opening night, but never for dress rehearsal." She nodded in understanding, and I sighed. "I don't know what's going on. I really wish I did."

"Well, I'm sure that once we get started, that'll all go away." She smiled, and we kept talking before we got the places call.

After our run through was finished and we had organized the curtain call, I saw someone step onto the set from the spot the audience was sitting. "That was amazing. Really." My eyes widened as I saw who was standing in front of me. "Grace, can I speak with you?" Amanda Seyfried had a wide smile, and I couldn't believe this was happening. Was this why I was so nervous?

"Yes, of course!"I smiled as she and I went to the side, and she immediately pulled me into a hug.

"That was incredible!" I grinned as she pulled back but kept her hands on my arms. "I'm too busy to catch the performance live, but I wouldn't miss this for the world, so I pulled some strings to come tonight. From one Sophie to another, you rocked the fuck out of that."

"Thank you so, so much. That truly means so much to me." My smile was definitely as wide as possible, and she grinned back.

"Mind if I get some pictures?"

"Mind if I get some pictures?"

mingey Due to prior commitments, I will be unable to watch Mamma Mia live tomorrow night, but seeing it was an opportunity I couldn't pass up. I pulled some strings and saw tonight's final dress rehearsal, and I was absolutely floored by the whole cast. Grace, in particular, is the physical embodiment of her character, and it is an honor to pass the Sophie torch onto such amazing talent. Break a leg tomorrow, love! 🌟

After our brief photo shoot, she pulled me back in for another hug. "You're going to kill it again tomorrow, babe. I just know it."

"Thank you so much. It truly means a lot to know that you loved it. My fiancé actually had to stage a mini-intervention for me to stop watching the movie version so I didn't perfectly recreate your version of Sophie and I could make it my own." She chuckled at that.

"You did make her your own, and it paid off."
