It happened when we were walking home together today.
Seeing the stray cat, my jaw drops in excitement (almost letting out a squeal) and I immediately approach it.
You give me a look of disapproval when I start petting the small animal on it's head.
The brown stray feline is really nice to me. It purrs upon my touch.
"You can't just pet random cats on the street," you say.
"How can I not pet it!" I reply. "Look at it! It's adorable!"
I hear you let out a sigh.
"Do you have a name, kitty?" I ask the cat. "I wish I brought some food for you. I'm sorry I don't have any."
After a while, I turn around for a bit only to see you looking down the street with your hands on your hips.
I think you're a bit annoyed that I'm taking long to pet the cat.
This is my chance though.
"Hey kitty," I turn back to the cat. "Do you think it's okay to like him?"

I watch you talk sweetly to the cat.
I'm slowly getting irritated by how cute you're acting in front of it, so I quickly turn around to try and simmer down my crazily beating heart.
Why am I like this?
What's going on with me?
I turn back to you and return to watching you. You're looking straight into the cat's glass orbs with your own sparkling ones right now.
I can see a bright smile dancing upon your lips and it makes me want to smile too.
As I stare at you, I feel a familiar feeling enter my chest.
I feel scared, because I know what it means.
