"That's important?" I ask.

I rub the back of my neck nervously. "Yeah..."
You stop scribbling on your notebook to look at me. "You're wasting your time," you say.
"Wasting my time?" My eyebrows stitch themselves together. "No I'm not."
"Sure," you say, completely unconvinced. "Who is this friend?"
"Just someone," I mumble.
I surely don't miss the questioning look you threw at me.
I let out a quiet sigh of relief when you didn't push on the matter and just left it alone.
