I walked in the door of Katie's home to find Cameron with her. The two were kissing passionately, and I couldn't disguise the hurt that spread throughout my expression. "Cameron, uh, what are you doing here?" I focused on Katie to find worry etched on every line of her face.
He glanced at Katie nervously. "Uh, well, Katie can explain, I should be on my way..." he stalled, heading for the door.
I focused my attention on Katie and she tensed, looking at my set jaw. After Cameron had left, she asked, "I know this is a bad time, but now, more than ever, I need to hear the words 'I love you and that will forever stay the same.'"
I shook my head, "I need an explanation first."
She reached for my hand while I pulled it away.
