With your heart beating in your throat, you ring the bell at your parental house. It's been a day now that you're back home and even though your parents were waiting for you at the gate and you were happy to see them. Emotional even. You just wanted to go home and sleep because of the time difference. Now that you've somehow gained a little energy again, you're ready to talk.
So here you are, on the couch with your parents across from you. 'I think we need to apologize.' Your mother starts and it's like a crap load of stress immediately falls off your shoulders. 'Yes. I think so too. We're sorry, {y/n}.' Your father now says. You look at them with wide eyes and you feel your tears already rolling down your cheeks. It's a pregnancy thing as well, you have no control over it. 'Oh, honey.' Your mom stands up and plops down next to you, to hold you in her arms. 'We were overwhelmed and we didn't know the man you're seeing. It was a lot to take in but it didn't give us the right to act the way we did. We're so sorry, dear. We love you and we never ever want to lose you!' She rubs your back softly and stares at your father. 'Your father would like to say something as well.' She says, almost through gritted teeth at your dad who looks from your mother back to you.
'I shouldn't have told you to go away. I was wrong to do that because it made things escalate. I don't always make great decisions under pressure.' No shit.. 'No, you don't.' Is what you say with a hoarse voice. He never did. There was this one time where you were on holiday in Spain, where he couldn't decide what to eat so in panic he ordered the clamps. Your father isn't really a fish person so clamps was stupid. His face when he ate one was priceless! It's a small example but a relevant one.
You talk with them some more and you're glad it's now settled. You're now at a state where you can forgive them and let them back into your life. 'You want to feel?' You ask your parents and your mom is the first one to jump up and put her hands on your belly. She smiles at you as you and her feel how the baby shifts inside you. 'Ah! Come feel, darling! It just shifted.' Your father also comes towards you to feel your baby. Now you have two pair of hands on you and you couldn't be happier. 'It's our grandchild in there. Can you believe that?' The words you were dying to hear are finally spoken. 'You are coming to visit us often when the baby is here, right? {Y/n}?' You chuckle at the desperation from your mother. 'Of course, mom. Don't worry.' You keep it to yourself that you'll be moving towards the UK. Starting another fight is the last thing you want right now. 'Do you know what it's going to be? A boy or a girl?' They ask but you shake your head. 'Tom and I want it to be a surprise.' It gives you two smiles your way and an "Aww". 'That's so sweet! Speaking of Tom. We saw the news. Pretty intense.' You agree with them but you also mention that you're both fine and that you have a feeling that it's at the end. 'I don't know if you have seen our video but we have received loads of support with it so we don't feel alone in this!' You feel like a messenger of good news to them. Perhaps that is because you just want to keep them away from all the things that are going to shit in your life and because that's none of their business.
'Oh! I haven't even told you, yet! I went to an award show with Tom! I have never met so many famous people in my life! You know how I was as a teenager, always dreaming about it and it finally came true! Mom, dad, I met the Avengers cast! I have their phone numbers and some of them want to go grab a drink with me! Can you believe it?' It seems that they finally understand where Tom is from. 'That's great! That was a dream of you indeed! But wait, back at your apartment you told me that I didn't recognize Tom. I always thought he had a familiar face but I thought it was from a random movie. He was in that franchise, wasn't he?' You nod and smirk, waiting for them to get hit in the face with realization. 'It's Loki!' Your father exclaims and you laugh. 'Yes, dad. He is!' He wraps his hand in front of his mouth. 'I yelled at Loki. Oh, I didn't know, sweetie.' You remember seeing those movies with him, exclaiming to your father how you loved him and that one day, you would marry him. It was silly, unrealistic but it was normal behaviour for a teen. Who would know you would end up carrying his baby? It was the one character that your father liked from the Thor franchise because of you. The rest he found too much science-fiction. But give him Iron Man and he would be happy too.
'It's fine, dad. Just don't do it again, ok?' You rub you belly softly, smiling at yourself of how lucky you are. 'It all started with a letter, did you know?' Of course they don't. You never told them because you knew how they would have reacted. But look where you are now. 'I'm happy.' It comes out easy and to be honest, that's what your parents always wanted for you. For you to be happy.Thank you for reading this chapter! Please leave a comment!
