A small time jump!
{y/s/n} = Your siblings name.

It's your last week of pregnancy and Tom isn't home. You say last week but that's only because the doctors have predicted it that way. And Tom isn't home because your apartment is succesfully sold but someone had to get down there to deal with it. You had asked him to do that so he went.

You hate that he has to do it because you wanted to do it yourself. It's just, you can't step on any plane and going by ferry isn't the fastest way to travel. He should be home at the end of the day so it's fingers crossed that your water doesn't break today.

'No, mom. I won't be near home today. Tom is. So if you want to grab a bite with him, that's ok! I'm sure he would like it!' A smile is present on your lips when you talk with your mother on face-time. She has bought an IPhone recently and now she has figured out how to use the videochat. It's all she wants to do nowadays. You bet {y/s/n} is jealous that (s)he isn't getting so much attention. 'Oh. Right. I know you told me but I keep forgetting. How is the baby?' You place the camera on an angle that your mom could see your belly. 'According to the doctors, he or she is doing fine and is almost ready to come out.' You can hardly wait anymore but unfortunately you have to. 'I'm glad to hear everything is fine! Will you call me when it's time?' You nod and place your bowl with noodles in the microwave. 'Of course, mom.' And at the same time that you say that, you feel something wet dripping down your legs. Not much but you know exactly what is happening and your expression says it all. 'Honey? Are you alright?' Your mother asks carefully and you stare at her with a shocked look on your face. 'Oh no. No, no, no, no! Not now! Shit!' You let out a string of swears and rants while waddling towards the bathroom to wipe your legs clean. It's not really an airtight solution since you keep losing amniotic fluid. How do you know? You just know.

'Honey! Please talk to me! What's going on?' You mom is still talking to you while you are slowly starting to panic. What are you going to do? Tom isn't home, he's in another country even! 'It's uhm.. I don't really know what to do.. to be frankly honest.' You can see your mom thinking until she seems to get it. 'Oh no..' You nod and pull your lips in a straight line. 'That's right. My water just broke.' You mumble and wipe some droplets of sweat from your forehead. 'I'm going to call my obstetrician and let her know. But I will have to call Tom first.' Subtly dropping the hint you have to hang up on her to avoid her being overprotective and wanting to take the burden of comforting you all on her own. 'Yes! I understand! Call me with updates, though! I want to know how you're doing!' But you shake your head. 'How about you go find Tom and get on the first flight here. Oh, and bring dad! I'll see you soon!' You hang up on her before you dial Tom.

He answers rather quickly, thankfully, and asks you what's up. 'Baby?' You begin, sitting down on a chair that you don't mind getting dirty and is easy to clean. 'Is something wrong?' You smile to yourself. The contractions should start soon now and after that it's waiting to give birth to a beautiful baby. 'My water just broke.. Our baby is coming.' A loud noise, like something is falling is filling your ears what makes you worry about him perhaps fainting. 'Baby? Are you ok?' You ask, feeling your abdomen softly starting to hurt. You have to admit, you're a little fearful. Your mom always said that contractions are really, really painful. 'I'm here. I'm fine. I will get on the first flight back home! Call Tom, he will take you towards the hospital and I will call my parents to go there too! Should I call yours too or would you like to do that yourself?' He is thinking of everything already. 'They already know! I was calling with my mom when it happened. They want to come with you on that flight so call them as well to meet up. I will call Tom and my obstetrician. It will be alright! I'll see you very soon! I love you!' You want to hang up already when he says something that absolutely makes you feel at ease. 'I promise, darling! Hold on, ok? I'll be with you before you know it! I love you too!'

After calling your obstetrician, who wants you to come to the hospital immediately, you now really start to feel the contractions acting up. You manage to call Tom with the message that he has to come now because of an emergency and of course he freaked out. But he is on his way. 'Just a little longer, sweetie. But we're more than ready to welcome you.' You rub your belly which isn't the smartest move because of the first good, painful contraction. You groan and focus on your breathing. 'Fuck!' But the pain subsides and you feel ok again. Now it's waiting for the next one.

'I'm terribly sorry. Is it alright if we close the deal another time? My girlfriend is getting into labour and I really, desperately want to be there so I have to catch the first flight to London.' Tom says as he puts his phone back into his pocket. 'Of course. We understand.' The man says and looks at his girlfriend who agrees. 'You have our number so please do call us when we can finish this. Congratulations!' He thanks them, gathers the paperwork and follows them out of your old apartment. 'Thank you so much!' He locks the door and starts running towards the stairs.

When he's outside, he's practically panicking because he doesn't really have a car here. He took a taxi here. But there are also tears of joy running down his face. He's going to be a father! Today! His emotion is only being heightened when a car stops in front of him and your mother gets out. 'It's happening! Come on! Let's go!' He gets in the backseat since your father is also in the car. On their way towards the airport, he calls his own parents to tell them the news. Thrilled and delighted, they promise to go towards the hospital.

Your mother is looking at him through the rearview mirror and smiles to herself when he sees him in tears. It's for her sign he truly cares for you. At first, she was afraid that he would leave you once he found out and since she was fighting with you as well, she was worried to say the least. But now seeing him like this and of course, you moving towards another country doesn't make her worry so much anymore.

Tom has his hands folded together and his eyes closed as he is trying to calm himself down. It's nearly impossible because he is afraid that he can't get on a plane because he doesn't have tickets yet. 'What if the plane is full?' He wonders out loud but your parents are quick in calming him down.

But the panic returns when he watches the woman behind the counter shake her head. 'I'm sorry. The last flight to London just left. I could get you tickets for the flight of tomorrow?' His whole world shatters around him. He can't wait for tomorrow! His baby is coming today! And he needs to be there! He made a promise to you and he can't break it. He refuses. 'Please, isn't there anything you can do? My girlfriend.. she's having our baby as we speak and I need to be there! I promised!' This time, tears of sadness are in his big blue eyes. But it's no use. 'I'm sorry, Mr. Hiddleston. I can't do anything for you. Just because you're famous, doesn't mean you get some sort of privilege.' His heart was already crushed and this just feels like she's stomping on it. 'There was no need for that, miss. You can understand what this man is going through, right? Famous or not, he needs to get to London to see his family.' Your father speaks up for him and pats his shoulder lightly.

'Alright. I'll see what I can do. Wait here.' The woman leaves the counter to go see her superior. There is a couch a little further and Tom excuses himself to go sit down. Once seated, he buries his face in his hands. He is sobbing softly and is praying that there is one more flight sceduled for today. He is not leaving here tomorrow. He is leaving today.
He is rubbing his eyes, leaving them red and puffy. 'God, what do I do?' He whispers in himself. 'Mr. Hiddleston?' He looks up, surprised that she is back so soon. This can't be good.
