'Mr. Hiddleston. There is no available flight to London for today. I'm terribly sorry but you'll have to find a different way to get to your girlfriend.' The woman speaks and he just loses it. He can't believe this is happening to him today! Out of all days!
'How? How can there be no flight to London? Last time I was here, they would come and go!' The lady shrugs and types something in the computer. 'My apologies, sir. I can't help you any further.' Bullshit. He thinks for a moment, exchanging looks with your parents and then practically yelling at the girl when he knows what to do.
'Train tickets! Could you sell me any train tickets? Please!' She looks into her computer and a small smile appears on her lips. 'It appears you're in luck. I can get you three tickets for the first train to London.' He nods frantically and reaches for his wallet in the pocket of his jeans. 'Please. Yes, please!' She prints them out and takes his money to then smile and wish them a safe journey.
With the airport app he downloaded on his phone, he can see that the next train is coming in ten minutes. It looks like he has time to breathe a little until he realizes that the train stations are on the other end of the freaking airport!
'Hurry! We only have ten minutes!' He says to your parents and the three of them start their way down to the stations. The train trip itself is also a small problem since it can take up to at least five hours. You poor thing. You're already in the hospital and Tom is here, racing to witness the birth of his child.
Luckily they make it in time and Tom can finally breathe normally again once he is seated. Both your parents take a seat across from him and are staring curiously at him. 'Are you alright, dear?' Your mother asks and he nods, wiping some sweat droplets from his forehead. 'I am now. There's nothing I can do now to speed things up but at least we got a way to get out of this country.' He still feels helpless, though. Five damn hours in a train while a flight is so much faster.
The train starts moving and he can finally calm down a little. Maybe he gets there on time. There is still hope! A little uneasy he grabs his laptop out of his case and starts killing time by checking up on e-mails, auditions, scrolling through social media even though not posting anything, etc. If he does nothing, he is only going to think about you and the fact that there is a chance he's going to miss it all. The last thing he needs right now is more anxiety and stress.

It was indeed five dreadful hours of sitting in the train but it has finally reached its destination and it's time to get off. After grabbing his belongings and waiting for your parents to grab theirs, they rush out of the station and towards the street where he hastily tries to get ahold of a taxi.
After multiple tries, a taxi stops in front of them and they get in. 'Welcome! Where can I take you on this lovely, unexpected, sunny day?' The taxi driver says rather cheery. 'We need to get to the hospital.' Tom says quickly and gives the man the address. 'Alright. Are you visiting someone or are you going to be hospitalized yourself? Any procedure can be hard and painful.' Tom is about done with the driver already because he doesn't have time for chit chat.
'Our daughter is in labour and we need to get there as soon as possible. We were delayed for a solid five hours. We hope she hasn't given birth yet.' The driver looks at them in the mirror after your father speaks up. 'Oh. I better hurry then.' He mutters and hits the gas pedal.
So ten minutes later, Tom is running ahead into the hospital after your mother told him to go. She and your father would deal with the luggage. 'Go greet your family.' She told him so off he went.
When he reaches the right floor, he can see that you're being taken to a different room. 'Wait! I'm sorry! I'm here!' He starts running towards you, almost slipping over the slippery hospital floor. You're smiling at him which is for him a sign that you're not angry with him. It's not like he can help it but still. He is late and that shouldn't be.
The staff is stopping him and explaining to him that he has to wear proper clothing before entering the delivery room. He follows their instructions like a mad dog before storming back in, reaching for your hand and pressing a long kiss on your lips. 'You made it. You're here.' He sees the tears in your eyes and feels how you squeeze his hand softly. 'Of course. I made a promise, didn't I?' He is more than happy to finally be here. On time! Even after all the rush and hours, he is still on time. It's a miracle and now he can't wait to hold his little baby later today.
{A/N} Here the Tom's p.o.v. as requested. I'm sorry I had to write this one, so it took a little time ehehe, because I wasn't really going to do this but here you go! And I'm kind of happy that I wrote it anyway! It gives a little more clearance! Enjoy your weekend!
