"You what!?" I yelled out, looking at Ken as he held out his mechanical arm. "Yep" he replied, laughing. "I lost my arm so I built this one. Alyza here helped." He said, still laughing.
I just stood in shock, staring at him. "As interesting as that story may be, it will have to wait. We need to get down to business." Cas said with a serious face. What's his deal?
We all walked over and sat down. Alyza scooted towards me and started brushing my hair. "You have really cool hair, dude!" She said, smiling. "Thanks" I said, turning away quickly so she doesn't see me blush.
"First things first, let's get Odessa caught up on everything that's happened so far." Proph said.
And so we did. We spent the next hour telling him everything. When he was caught up, he seemed really interested in the entirety of his place. "So where do we go from here?" Odessa asked everyone.
We all looked around, but nobody spoke up. "Well..." Proph said. "It's a bit of a stretch but I might know." We all stared at him, fully engaged into whatever he has to say. "His daughter told me that he left to atone for his sins and where he's going, he has no need for money or valuable items. That only made me think of one possible place." He said. We're still staring at him. "Monastery. He chose to become a monk." He said, looking up at us.
We all just continued to stare. "You're right, that is a stretch." Odessa said. We all started laughing, except Proph. He sat quietly. "There's one secluded about 100 miles away. I'd like some of you to go check it out." He said, still looking at the ground with a blank expression. "Why don't you go yourself?" Odessa asked.
Proph looked up at him. "I still have matters to attend to here. I can't go." Proph said. We all sat in silence for a few seconds until Cas broke it. "I'm not going either. I'm not going to bother on a whim." He said.
Proph nodded to him. "I'm out too. I didn't come here to play detective." Odessa said. Proph turned towards me. "I'd like you to stay, also. You're the only one who's been inside the residence of Shilux family. I don't want you to put something together or remember something and be away from me." He said. Though I would like to go, what he says makes sense. I nodded at him.
"I'll go." Ken said. We all turned to him. "It'll give me time to get used to my arm." He said chuckling. Odessa sneered at him. "Very well." Proph said. Pablo raised his hand. "I guess I'll go too. Can't leave him out there on his own, he might rust." He said.
Proph stares at him a bit before nodding. "If you wish, just please avoid combat as much as you can. Your mark is already much larger than ours." He said. "IT IS!?" Alyza blurted out. "Can I see, can I?" She asked.
Pablo looked embarrassed. "Sure." He said. He then unbuttoned his suit and pulled it off. It is large. Bigger than I thought. His mark dreads from his wrist up his arm, across his left nipple, down halfway his ribs and almost onto his neck.
Alyza's eyes widened. She practically jumped across the room to him and stuck her hand on his chest, rubbing the mark. "This is so cool!" She exclaimed. Pablo began to blush. Ken cleared his throat and she stopped. He looked at her. "I'd like you to stay here, too. It might get dangerous. Continue to work on what we started already." Ken said.
Proph wrote something on a piece of paper and ripped it out, holding it out to Ken. "I'd like you guys to head out immediately. The quicker, the better." He said.
Ken reached out and grabbed the paper. Pablo then stood up and they both waved and headed towards the door. "So now what?" Odessa asked. Proph sat back in his chair.
"Now all we can do is wait."
