"Ayyee. Get in here." I said as I grabbed Mike and pulled him down into the limo from the sun roof. "Haha. Come at man. Tonight's going to be great!" Mike said. "Yeah, Marz. Come on. Have some fun." Jessica said to me. "Guys, leave him alone. The driver is going to get pulled over anyways." Spencer responded with.
Mike, Jessica and Spencer are all members in my band. We're amateur performers with a decent fanbase in our city of Atlanta. Mike is on drums, Jessica handles bass, Spencer does the keyboard and I'm the lead vocalist. We haven't been around for too long so I'm satisfied with our current position as musicians.
"Okay, fine." Jessica said. Mike reached for the mini fridge and pulled out a soda. "So what do you think? Will the capacity be filled?" Mike said to me.
I took a second to run my chin and think. "Nah" I said before laughing. "That arena can hold 5,000. I'll be happy if we get half of that." Mike raised his soda in the air. "One day soon enough." He said. I smiled "Yeah. Soon enough."
We arrived at the arena a few minutes later and began exiting the limo. "Did everyone pick up their trash?" Asked Spencer me and Mike looked at each other with confusion and then Mike balled up some paper and threw it at him. It hit Spencer in the head and we all laughed about it. "Okay guys, we don't want to be late." Jessica said.
We all rushed backstage and quickly changed. Jessica changes in the same room as us. That's how close we have all gotten. Jessica is an equal to us. It's not a man and female relationship with her.
I finished getting dressed first and sat by the door. I took a deep sigh and looked at everyone. Mike.. his shaggy blonde hair and tight clothing. I'll never understand how he's comfortable in those. Spencer, with his buzzcut brown hair and glasses. His outfits are always basic. Just a T-shirt and some jeans. And then you got Jessica. She really intensifies her dark skin with the bright colors she wears. Her clothing is always lose. Usually a tank top and some sweatpants. Her hair is long and curly, it's also dark purple. She's not the first person I met with dark purple hair.
They finished getting dressed and we went out on stage to perform. I was blown away. The entire arena is filled. I looked at Jessica and she looked at me with her mouth open. Mike came up behind me and grabbed my shoulder "So about that not being a full arena thing." He whispered. I chuckled and looked around at the fans. I couldn't help it... I know I was grinning like an idiot.
That night we gave our best performance. The fans were all in, singing along. I was really taken away by it all. Is this Gods grace to me? Because if this is the top point of kms life... I'm okay with that. I am satisfied with everything.
We finished our last song and we all rushed backstage. "That was amazing!" I screamed. "We killed it!" Mike yelled. We then all came into a group hug. I could feel Jessica's tears run down my arm. I didn't mind, I accept them.
We broke hug and I held my hand out for everyone to pause. "I left my clothes in the limo. Imma grab them so I can change before the meet-N-greet." I said. They all told me okay and so I walked out the backdoor toward the limo.
It's funny how distortion of coloring works. Tonight... it's so dark. But inside me... everything is ignited. I jumped and swung my first into the air "Yes! Woohoo!" I yelled.
I can't imagine anything else I'd rather be doing. This moment right now... hold the best feeling I have ever felt. I don't care what my past is. I don't care what my future holds. I'm in love with right now. And I...
I hope it never ends.
The limo came into my sight and I saw a figure leaning on the back. The closer I got the more I was able to make out a person eating something.
"Hey there, Marz." The person said. They then tilted the food toward me.
"You want a honeybun?"
