I slowly peeled the bandages off my skin on my arm. They pulled at it and ripped some of it off. I gritted in pain, however it's much less than yesterday's. Is this accelerated healing real? So far it seems to be, but am I just imagining it? Is it maybe a case where I believe it to be true, so I trick myself into seeing it?
Suddenly there was a knock on the door. I looked up and saw Ken standing in the doorway. "Sup" He said. I looked back down at my arm. He took a step inside the room and saw it. "That looks like more than just a small incident." He said and then laughed.
I looked over at him and noticed his arm. Come to think of it.... should he even be alive? I didn't see his wound, but one large enough to fit an arm.... he should've bled out. I looked back down at my arm. So this healing is... real?
"Hey, Ken." I said. He stopped laughing. "Yeah?" He asked. "Your arm.... do you blame me for it? For no protecting you?" I asked. "Hmm" He said, holding out his arm. "Well I can't say it was worth it. We didn't even save her..." that cut deep. I gritted my teeth. "However, I've had this thing draw up for quite some time. Deep down.... I kinda always wanted this to happen. I even have a design for my legs." He said before laughing. "Plus, the guy I fought used his Yurie extremely skillfully. It just shows me the potential that I have."
I was shocked. I stared at him with my eyes open. He doesn't hold any resentment towards any of this. Not even the one who did it to him. I'm ashamed. I took in the anger I thought he felt and put the guilt on myself. I tried to settle his score for him, but really I was just foolish.
The front door suddenly opened and we heard a familiar voice. Ken walked out of the room. "Ken!" I heard. I walked out of the room to find Alyza wrapped around Ken, hugging him and behind her was Ariana, glaring at them. Better be careful, Ken. The next body part you lose might not be so easily replaceable.
Ariana saw me and smiled. She walked over to me. "Hey, Odessa. It's good to see you." She said. She looked down at my arm. "Oh my, that doesn't look good." She said, worryingly. I lifted my arm up and placed it on her head. "It's nice to have you here." I said to her.
"You must be Auro." I heard Ken say. I looked over to see him holding out his hand towards Auro. "Yes, are you are?" Auro said, reaching out to Ken.
I looked over and saw Prophs door. I'll leave these guys to catch up. I walked over to Prophs door and knocked on it. "Yeah, come in." I heard from inside. I opened the door and saw Proph laying in his bed. He looked over to me. "Oh, Hi." He said.
I walked into his room and shut the door behind me. "Look, I just wanted to apolo..." "Don't worry about it." Proph said, cutting me off. "I understand why you were frustrated. I don't hold anything against you. Just from here out, use that aggression to fight alongside me, not against me." He said.
Once again, I'm in a state of shock. Why am I the only one angry in this situation? Am I missing the bigger picture, or is there multiple images. We're living in an optical illusion. We see different while looking at the same thing.
"Oh but next time you want to come at me, just do it when the suns still out. You're just lucky I couldn't see. He said and then smiled. What a fool... I closed my eyes and smiled back.
And we both laughed.
