We gathered everything up and placed it in the plane. It's a small plane with barely enough room to fit us all, but we made it work. Dalton sat pablos unconscious body next to the window so it can lean against it without falling over. Pablo looks a bit odd slumped like he is, I try my best to ignore it.
We lifted off almost immediately after getting situated. Once we were leveled out into the air, Ken spoke up about Pablo. "So what are we going to do with him after he lands?". Dalton looked over and Pablo but didn't say a word. "Cas will meet us at an undisclosed location upon landing with a stretcher. It'll do for now, however...." I was cut off by Odessa. "However if he doesn't wake up soon, He'll die." Everyone stared off into silence for a bit. Nobody said a word.
"Ray will meet us shortly after. Within 24 hours of landing. I expect our assault to begin within the next few days." Dalton said. Again nobody said a word. The tension is strong within these walls. Enough to suffocate a person. We all have a reason to save them kids. I don't think any of us can take another set back.... but they're to come...
It's just a matter of when.
We for the most part sat in silence the entire flight. Only having small casual talk every so often. We shared a few bottles between ourselves to relieve us, the rest turning away. The entire plane smelled of urine.
We eventually make it to a wooded area with a very small landing strip. There isn't any buildings or anything nearby, just an empty line to land on. As we were landing I noticed a van parked alongside the strip. A body leaning against it... Cas.
We had a bumpy landing but managed to stop the plane safely. The doors were immediately opened and everyone jumped out. Cas brought the stretcher over to us. Him and Dalton put Pablo on it and safely carried him to the van.
"So where do we go from here?" Odessa asked. "I've been here for a few days. I made myself aquatinted with some of the homeless community around here and learned of a place. I stayed there last night. It's a small shack built inside a tunnel under a bridge. It's been abandoned for quite some time though." Cas said.
We all agreed on it and Dalton broke off to speak to the pilot. We all gathered inside the van and waited for him to return. Once he returned, we set out to the bridge.
After a roughly 2 hour drive, we pulled up to an old, sketchy looking bridge. "This bridge is pretty big. And you said it's abandoned?" I asked. Cas nodded. "Yup. The location it led to is no longer accessible. Sink hole incident a few years back." Cas said. "I see." I replied before getting out.
They moved Pablo immediately into the shack and set him down. After they got him settled, everyone else moved inside. I guess it's only natural... the sun is setting after all. We better get our rest also.

I was awoken by the noise of shuffling. I sat up in a sweat and looked around the room. A small fire was burning in the middle, barely lighting the area. I let out and sigh and just stared into the fire blankly.
I'm sweating? Did I have a nightmare? Or did the sweat begin upon waking up? Perhaps it was a calming dream.... and my body is scared that it woke up. I could live inside my dreams. I often think about that. How nice would it be to infinitely be stuck inside your sleep?
A new life constantly? No pain? Constant happiness? and when you're scared.... it'll be gone in a moment.
Life is the opposite of a dream. We're always in pain. Constantly stuck in a cycle and when things go wrong... we can't erase. Not even another chance to fix it. I thought if I pretended things were a dream, that life wasn't real... it'll all get better. However.... I looked to my right and smiled.
It's time to wake up.
