"Keep fighting." Dalton yelled. "We can't save him until we clear this up." Damnit. There's a lot of them. 30? 40? Damn.
The guys with the RPGs through down the empty weapons and pulled out blades. I see. They don't want to use guns because there's so many of them. Friendly fire is a high risk.
Dalton unsheathed his Katana that he carries on his back. "Let's make this quick." He said, rushing towards them. He met force with another blade and used it to propel himself into the air, he then slung his hand down, firing needles of ice at the enemies.
I rushed towards them, throwing whips of water, smashing into blades and cutting into bodies. They're all in one area, that makes this easy. One person took out his gun and aimed it at me. He pulled the trigger but the gun backfired and exploded into his face.
"Don't worry about guns, I can stop them all." Cas yelled out. I smiled... alright then. I turned a string of lightening into a thin blade and rushed in. I was swung at so I leaped up, then kicked the person in the face. They stumbled backwards so I used that momentum to flip out of the crowd. This is a pain. We gotta thin the crowd quickly. Just then a heavy layer of ice came up from the ground. "They can't move, go!" Dalton yelled out. I rushed at each person and again created a thing blade. I sliced at each person throat one by one moving through the crowd. This many lives, this much blood. The noise of gurgling... it's almost unbearable. I looked over at Dalton. He's stabbing them from the back, through the heart. Is he more human then me? I didn't even consider that an option....
Gun fire rained down from above, striking me in multiple locations. I kneeled down and Dalton covered us in ice. He was creating a shield, dancing around to rebuild where bullets are constantly breaking through.
What happened? Were they always above us? I attempted to stand up but my body immediately collapsed. How many times was I hit?
The ice continues to break as he moves around, bullets escaping through, one striking him in the leg. I have to help. I must've torn some tendons. My body won't move. No, no. I can't do anything.
I looked up at him as he gave his all into protecting us. How.... how does he do it? He develops an endless pit when it comes to protecting. He doesn't have the ability to stop.
My arm lifted. I can move it now. Another bullet escaped through and grazed his shoulder. I used what little bit of strength I could to cover the shield up. A wall of ice sudden built up in front of me.
No....
Not again.
"No!" I yelled out. "You won't sacrifice yourself again! Not for me! I can help." I screamed out. He didn't respond, only continued. I hear the clattering of bullets on the ground. He's slowing down. He can't last much longer. Cas.... where is Cas!?
I punched the ice. "Damnit take this down!" I screamed. I don't think I have enough to break it, but if I don't, he'll die. I put my hand on the ice and with one heavy push, I shattered it. He reached his arm of to rebuild it but that arm flinched after being grazed by a bullet. That flinch was all they needed.
A loud sound of skipping echoed against the ground. I looked over. It's a grenade. Dalton reaches out and rebuilt the ice. No... no, you bastard! Protect yourself! This shouldn't have happened, this wasn't planned. Where is our backup, where is Odessa!???
The explosion went off. The ice wall shattered and I seen Dalton's body fly up. He managed to shield the blast at the last second. But the force still knocked him up. He hit his shield and began to fall.... but the floor is gone.
In a panic I used all my energy to leap out to him. I stretched my arm and he stretched his.... and we missed. His body slowly fell through, into a dark depth with no visible bottom. You know, Dalton... for everything...
I've always looked to you.
