I leaped down and landed on the ground at the bottom of the hill and sprinted towards the building. Marz and Pablo followed behind me.
We reached the front glass door and busted through it. There was no one in the main lobby... this is odd... where is everyone?...
"Keep moving. Check every room here. We have to find that lab!" I said. If it's even here....
"I'll go around." Pablo said. I turned and looked at him. "It'll be quicker if we meet halfway."
I nodded to him. "Alright, be careful." I said. He ran out of the broken glass door and down to the back.
Me and Marz kept going forward, checking every door we came to. Empty. Everything is empty. Empty offices, storage rooms, meeting rooms, empty. It's all empty!
No! Where is it! It has to be here! The delivery trucks... that place.. that place is affiliated... why would the trucks be there. Linked... it has to be linked!
"Calm down." Marz said. I got startled by his words. I didn't even notice that I was beginning to breath heavy. I'm getting too worked up over this... but the test. I failed to end them. Everything that happened after that day... is on me.
"Right." I responded. "Let's continue to move."
We continued to check every room. Again it was all empty... what's going on? Why is everything so empty?
We turned a corner and at the very end up it sat 2 people on the ground next to a sealed door. So this is it, huh? Whatever is behind that door is connected to all of this.
The two people remained seated, draped in purple cloaks. We slowly walked closer and they stood up. They stood with their arms crossed and head down.
As we got closer, they dropped their arms. Well... I guess it's time to find out what I can do.
They came at me, running in zig zags. Suddenly their skin on their forearm came out and took the shape of a blade. They sliced at me but I used a force of wind to stop their movement and push them back.
"Stay behind me." I yelled out to Marz. He stood with his arms in the air in combat form. I know he wants to seem brave, but I can tell that he's nervous.
They came back at me simultaneously. They both swung and I ducked underneath them both. I grabbed them each and sent lightning through my body, shocking them both. I then kicked one in the leg and grabbed the back of his neck. I slammed him head first into the wall, cracking his skull open.
The other one leaped up at me but I spun just in time for him to miss. He came back at me and I stepped to the side, causing him to miss again.
He came right back but this time I grabbed his fist and used water to create a bind around it. I twisted his arm around his back and connected the water binds to the other hand, locking them in.
I then put my hand on his back and used Ice to shove him down and seal him to the floor. I got this move when Dalton did it to me.
"Alright, lets go." I said to Marz. He looked shocked. "Wow, you handled those guys easily." He said. "Yeah, well I've been training my Yurie." I responded. "About that..." he said as he started walking down the hall towards the door. "What exactly is your Yurie?" He asked.
I walked in silence until I reached the door. "Don't worry about that for now, I'll explain it later." I said. I then began to push on the door. It's really sealed tight. I suppose there's only one way through.
I took a few steps back and held out my hand. I released a mass wave of air at the door which broke the wall down around it and caused the door to fall down, exposing what's behind it.
I was washed with relieve... it's... it's a lab...
I slowly walked inside of it. This is exactly what I hoped was here. All the chemicals, all the equipment, all the samples. It's all here. This room looks like something out of a movie.
I began to have a look around. I checked everything, taking a mental note of everything in it. Then I found some papers.
I began to scan through them. There's location written on it. Locations around the world.... there's... this location written down.
No... no... NO! Does this mean?... there's more labs out there!? Of course there is. I was naive to think there's only one lab.
There's another location. It's written in code... however I already know what it is.
That's the location of the new test.
I squeezed my fist and gritted my teeth. "Get out." I said to Marz. He looked at me a bit shocked before stepping out of the room.
I turned around with a snap and began to throw my arms, slinging lines of wind around the room, destroying everything. The quite sound of peace was overrun by the sounds of shattered glass and liquid spilling.
And when it was all over. Even as I stood in the middle of that destroyed lab... I didn't feel like I achieved a thing. Each inch we move forward, we discover another mile to cross. We keep saying "when this is all over..." but...
Is it already over?
