All weekend I don't do shit. I don't go to parties, I don't go out to dinner with the girls, I don't do homework, I don't respond to Maddie and Lilia's texts, I don't even practice my lines. Nothing. Because I fucked up so bad that I physically can't do anything but sit blankly staring at movies I've already seen, thinking about how badly I fucked up.
When Monday comes along I know that doing nothing all weekend will come back to bite me in the butt. Not going to parties will result in being questioned by every popular kid as to what I was doing that was more important. Not going out with the girls will result in all of them "comforting" me because I must've been "too heartbroken" to leave the house. Not doing homework is obvious, my teachers will give me shit despite my usual straight A's. Not responding to Maddie and Lilia will result in one of them being mad at me, maybe even both. And the line thing should be most obvious, I'll embarrass myself in front of Jaeden fucking Lieberher. The boy who was the cause of my fucking up this weekend.
"Where the hell were you all weekend?" Maddie walks up to my locker, Lilia at her side. The two of them look perfectly put together and fine, while I look like a hot trying-to-be-put-together-but-failing-miserably-because-failing-is-all-i-do mess.
"Figuring my shit out. Sorry I ghosted you." I slam my locker shut, praying to god they aren't pissed at me.
"Ok, well I hope you're better now." Lilia says, stepping closer to me and pulling me into a hug. Maddie joins, and we are having our first real group hug since Maddie and Jack had their first big fight.
"Whatever you need to get over this messed up shit, we are here for you." Maddie whispers as we are in the hug.
I never told the girls what happened... did Finn tell everyone? "What messed up shit, exactly?"
"Finn dumping you because he though you liked some nerd..." Lilia says as if I should know.
"That isn't really what happened." I tell my friends.
"Then what is? Because Finn told everyone at the party Friday night that he 'dumped you sorry psycho ass' and that you could 'go be happy with that stalker'. Who is the other guy by the way?" Maddie spills the truth. Holy shit, Finn.
"Oh my god..." I back away from the girls. Why is Finn doing this to me? Saying all this creepy shit about me. Calling me psycho. Calling Jaeden a stalker. Saying we should be happy together.
