"You're going on a date with Jaeden Lieberher?" Maddie asks over group FaceTime as Lilia jumps and claps. I knew Maddie wouldn't like it, I knew Lilia would be slightly more than okay with it.
"Yes." I state matter of factly. I don't even want to explain to them why or how, I just want them to help me pick out an outfit.
"I think you guys would be cute together." Lilia says when Maddie and I fall into a deadly silence.
"Thank you, Lil." I can't stop smiling to a point that my cheeks hurt. Since I walked away from him an hour ago I haven't been able to stop grinning like an idiot.
"Wear the nude dress, it's cute and sexy at the same time, just like you." Maddie says with a blank expression, but I know she is right with the outfit suggestion.
"I love you, I gotta go." I blow a kiss to the girls through my computer and hang up the call. Rehearsal got out at 5:30, and I showered the second I got home, then called the girls for Maddie's excellent fashion advice. The nude dress is a body con that has a little ruffly at waist. It's kind of childish, but I've always loved it. And I think Jaeden will too. By 7:45 I'm finished and sitting in the living room trying to calm the nerves. I used to get nervous when I was about to meet with Finn, but back then it was more of a scared nervous, now it's an excited nervous. And I like this kind of nervous a little more.
I get a text at 7:57 and am out the door within the minute. "You look gorgeous." He says when I open the car door and slide in.
"You too." I wink. He actually looks adorable in a white button down and jeans. It's a typically Jaeden Lieberher look, and I absolutely love it.
"Thank you." He pulls out of my driveway and starts heading to Lilia's-old-date's house. The party started at 7, but everyone knows I love being fashionably late. Maddie and Lilia will be there but they said they will let me and Jaeden have out alone time, and Finn will no doubtably be there but I'm prepared to ignore him. I'm in the best mood, and I couldn't be happier. Any second with Jaeden is a great second, and I'm excited to be able to have a bunch of them tonight.
We walk into the house holding hands, which Finn never really did. It's crowded, but that was to be expected. I see Lilia on the couch with a bunch of guys, and Maddie talking to Jack Kelly in the dining room about whatever they are talking about. Normally when I walk into a party it feels like everyones heads turn. Everyone looks at me to see what I'm wearing, to see how Finn looks, to see what one of the hottest couples in the school was doing. Now no one is looking, and if someone accidentally glances at us they turn away with a look of confusion. Why would one of the most popular girls in school be holding hands with a creepy theater nerd? Why would she be enjoying it so much?
Jaeden leads me to the kitchen, and fixes me up a drink. "Orange soda and beer?" I say when I take a sip, remembering the taste of the drink he'd given me at the first party we'd been at together.
"Is it growing on you." He smirks, watching me place the cup to my lips again.
"Just like you did."
I dance with Jaeden for a while. When he goes to refill our drinks I dance with Lilia, but when he comes back she leaves us for some rando. After a while my feet hurt, so I ask if he wants to go outside. The backyard is always way too crowded, so we go out front after another dink refill. We sit on the grass, surrounded by nothing but empty cars (aside from maybe one with people hooking up in the back seat). "I don't think I've ever seen you drunk." I giggle while watching him chug the rest of his cup.
"I handle alcohol well." He says. We're sitting close together so our legs are touching, but that's the only physical contact going on. I'm kinda sad about that.
"That's no fun." I grab his hand just because I like the contact.
He sighs, in a quite yet kinda hot way, "I know." We still are facing out, not at each other, but I feel his eyes keep glancing at me.
"Maybe you should just pretend you're really drunk. You'd have way more fun!" I shout, obviously wasted myself.
"Well what do drunk people do?" He says, heading somewhere that I'm not really aware of, but I know if Jaeden is going there it's gonna be good.
"Sex." I turn to him with a big goofy smile on my face.
He turns his head to make eye contact with me, and slowly unlaces his fingers from mine. He moves his hand to my thigh in the most delicate way and squeezes slowly. "How's this for a start?"
"Perfect." I put my now free hand on top of his which is now rested on my leg.
We just sit for a minute or two, like neither of us want to move but we both want to move so much. "You look gorgeous right now." He breaks the silence.
"Thanks, you look pretty hot." I don't know what to do next, but I want to do something. "What now?"
"What do you want to do?" His voice sounds so cute and sexual, which is the best combination ever.
I open my mouth, but I don't know how to put everything I want to do into words. "A lot of stuff."
"Well what's first on the list?"
"Kiss you." I stare up at him.
"Well what's stopping you?" He taunts.
"The distance between us." I say not even knowing what I'm doing. Then before I know it Jaeden is grabbing my legs and lifting me up so I am sitting on his lap with my legs wrapped around him.
"Better?" Our faces are extremely close, which is exactly how they're supposed to be.
"Better." I break the small distance left between us and lightly press my lips to his. But I don't want light right now, I want him in every way, and he gets that. I run my hands through his hair as we kiss, and his hands find my hips. He squeezes my hips the same way Finn did, but everything is better with Jaeden. We do that for a while, probably would've done it for longer if someone didn't walk out of the front door and needed to get past us.
After breaking apart we make eye contact and we both smile, "My house?"
