It was a normal Saturday with Dad home that we decided to go visit the rest of the pack. Dad and I sat in the back seat as Lucy drove with Ciri in the shotgun. The ride was uneventful but I enjoyed telling my Dad about the past week while he's been working. After my mom died that's the only two thing he does. Work and talk to me. I know why he doesn't open himself up anymore. He only told my mom bout shifters when she got pregnant with me. She felt betrayed, he kept a secret so big. It wasn't till a month before I was born did they make up. Only for her to die three weeks after my birth due to complications. He's scared to lose anyone again.
When we got to the pack's neighborhood I immediately joined the kids playing hide-n-seek. It was kinda great seeing everyone out there. All of my Aunts and Uncles sat on the front porch of Uncle Jake and Aunt Sandra's house.
It was when the six of us dragged Aunt Willow into Quack diddly oso that the day became one for the books. Willow had her back to the house meaning she was facing the entire block. Right down to the end where the neighborhood turned into a major street. We had gotten down to four people when Willows' mouth dropped as she looked into the distance.
A woman came walking down the street. She had long flowing dark red hair and even though we were far away I could tell she was on the shorter side for fully grown adults. As she got closer I felt like I recognized her. It wasn't until I heard Auntie Amber speak.
"Red?" She jumped down the stairs and ran the full speed like the fox she rarely shows to the girl. (10/12/18)
