I ran over the court, some students were there too, they smoked. They looked way to young to be smoking, most of them at least. I saw some older students there too.
They all watched me running away from school and unfortunately they saw me stumbling and the concrete floor punching me in the face.
Everything turned black, I heard laughter, then I didn’t hear anything anymore. My head ached, fortunately I passed out.

I didn’t know how long I’ve been unconscious, but as I woke up I found myself in a hospital room.
The lights and the white walls blinded me and from my head I felt a horrible pain running through my whole being.
“Fuck” I said quietly and massaged my temples.
I sat up and squinted my eyes because of the pain.
“Gently!” I heard a soft and female voice. Probably a nurse.
I slowly opened my eyes and blinked, my vision was a bit blurry, but then I saw the woman’s face in front of me.
She had short and light brown hair, it almost looked orange.
Her eyes were gray, but it was a warm tone.
She wasn’t wearing makeup and looked pretty tired and like she had been working too much in the last days.
“What’s the time?” I asked carefully. I kinda feared the answer.
“No worries, it’s still the same day, but to answer your question,”, she looked at her watch, “8.06 pm.”
I squinted my eyes again. “Damn.”
“You’re swearing a lot as it seems to me.” She said and walked a few steps away from me.
“For good reasons.” I replied and took a breath. “I wanna leave.”
“Sure you do, but you’ll have to wait until tomorrow. Also you have visitors, well, may I let them to you?”
“Yeah, sure.” I said and wondered who could’ve come to visit me.
My parents? No, they were probably at work. Busy people…
Selena? I didn’t think she would like to visit me at the moment. She probably rather hang with Kira.
But who…
I couldn’t end the sentence in my thoughts because Selena was rushing in. And then I heard a familiar voice outside talking with the nurse, but I couldn’t say who it was.

“Hey.” Selena said, “You okay?”
“I don’t know.” My voice sounded a bit cracked. “I don’t want to talk with you right now.” I added.
“I understand. I just wanted to say sorry about earlier. I didn’t mean to hurt you.”
“I’m not mad at you.” I told her. “I just don’t feel like talking, okay?”
She nodded. “Leonard is outside. He said, he wanted us to be alone, do you wanna see him?”
Leonard? How did he know? Did Selena tell him? And how did she even know?
I hated not knowing what was going on.
“He can come in if he wants to.”
She went to the door, and whispered “Bye”.

A few moments after she had left the room, Leonard came in.
He looked exhausted. He grabbed a chair and placed it next to my bed, then he sat down. He didn’t say anything, just looked worried at me.
“Why are you here?” I whispered.
He took a deep a breath. “I am here because I called the ambulance. Actually I found you because I had been skipping the last period and the other students around wouldn’t help, so I did.”
He made a pause. “What happened, Aiden?”
I closed my eyes and didn’t say anything, I was searching for the right words.
I looked at him again and decided to just tell it like it was. “I’ve cut yesterday. I passed out. Selena woke me up with a call, she didn’t know of course. I didn’t tell her the whole truth, but she found out today. We argued. A friend of her, Kira, made me feel worse after our fight. I ran into the bathroom and cried and screamed. Then I ran out and stumbled. “ I was crying again and my head ached so horribly. “Can you hold me, please?” I whispered crying.
He leaned forward and hugged me. It felt good.
“I talked with Mrs. García, I asked if I could stay here over night, is that okay for you?”
I nodded. “Yes, of course.” Then I found the power to raise my arms and hug him back. “Thanks.”

He kept sitting on the chair and laid his head on the bed we both fell asleep. I felt safe with someone I knew around.
I was happy Leonard was there.
