3 years later.
I woke up because I felt someone kissing my forehead. It was Leonard.
“Good Morning, sleepy head.”, he whispered.
“Morning? “, I murmured, “Is the night already over?”
He laughed softly. “Yes, my love.”
We kissed and I wrapped my arms around him to pull him near. His body next to mine, his skin on mine, it felt absolutely perfectly and I never could get enough of this feeling.
Suddenly, Leonard stood up.
“Where are you going? Don’t leave me.”, I whined.
“I’ll be right back with coffee and breakfast.”
“Sounds perfect.”, I whispered and closed my eyes again.
I felt Leonard watching me for a while before he left the room.
As he came back I smelled the coffee and opened my eyes again.
“Breakfast is ready.”, he said softly.
Later that day Leonard and I went outside for a walk.
We went to the park and walked a while through it.
It was the first day of spring, cool and windy.
“Today’s a beautiful day.”, I said and laid my head on Leonard’s shoulder while we were walking
“Tomorrow will be even better.”, Leonard whispered.
I smiled. “It will be, Mr Morris.”
He shook his head. “You’ll have to learn to call me Pierce.”
“I will, but our wedding is tomorrow, and till then I’m allowed to say Mr Morris.”
He kissed me. “Of course you are. You can call me whatever you want.”
“What about ‘My perfect man’?”
“Sounds good, my beautiful angel.”
We came to a pizzeria and decided to go in. Leonard ordered a tuna pizza and I a margherita.
It tasted good and we sat there for a while, talked a lot, got lost in each other’s eyes and enjoyed being together.
It was just awesome. I never believed I could even stand a chance and now we were engaged and were going to get married tomorrow. Sometimes it still seemed like a too wonderful dream, but it was real. Leonard really loved me and I couldn’t believe my luck.
Moreover Leonard turned out to be the most perfect person and just the best for me. He was all I ever needed and he was making me truly happy for the first time in my life. I never believed in destiny, but since I’m with with him, I changed my mind. I’m thankful to fate, or the gods or whatever brought us together.
I couldn’t describe how much I love him, and with each day the feeling grew bigger. I believed this must be true love, this happens when you find your perfect match, your soul mate.
My soul mate was sitting right in front of me, drinking his coke zero and looking out of the window with his ocean blue eyes.
“What a beautiful man.”, I whispered to myself.
He turned his face to me. “Did you say something?”
I nodded. “I was just admiring your beauty.”
Then we kissed, it was a long and soft kiss and amazingly perfect. Just like him. Leonard Morris – soon Pierce – the love of my life.
