*Translations *1 The lawyer is a dead man. Do you understand? Timpone is dead. We are coming. We are coming.

Yn's POV

"Listen up. What Pulpo did downstairs was an attack on our family. First Willhite and now Antonio. So let me be clear. Forget warrants. Forget the rules. It's on us to catch him. And when we do, he's to be handed off to me and Alvin" Voight said. "They found a possible getaway vehicle up on division" Jin said. "Any sign of Pulpo" Adam asked. "One dead male. No confirmation on the body yet." "Alright. Let's go" Voight said.

"What do you got" Voight asked as we got down to the scene. "All fake. They took a regular van and put the decals on it, so it looks like a paddy wagon" a police said. "The prison transport van that Pulpo escaped in was found six blocks from the district. He ditched it, and he switched to this" Jay said. "All right, where's the body" I ask. "Over here. Driver's wearing a mall security badge someone bought at an army surplus store. Forensics I.D.'d the prints. His name's Carlos Guvera. He's a known bagman for the Colombian cartel" Mia said.

"Hey, guys, Pulpo's girlfriend and son were with him. How much you want a bet he's taking his family unit and hightailing it back to Colombia" Erin asked. "We got his name and his mug shot at every border checkpoint. Train stations, airports" Adam said. "If Pulpo planned this far, you better believe he planned for a way to get out" Voight said.

At the district, it was a mad scramble trying to find a lead. "Hey, anything at Lina's house" Voight asked Erin. "Marshals stormed it. Came up empty." "What about Lina's family?" "Her mom's got a place on the south side, came up clean, and so did her cell phone records, but I think it's worth a drive-by." "Good. Take someone and go do it." Erin and Mia then left. "So last guy loyal to him, he kills. No friends, no family. Who else do you have?" "What about Pulpo's lawyer, Anthony Timpone" Jay asked. "Timpone. He reps half the criminals in the city. He didn't get that rep by cooperating with the police, I'll tell you that" Al said.

"I got an idea. When my parents got divorced, my ma had this guy call in a threat to my dad's office. He was checking for bombs underneath his car for months" Adam said. Voight nodded. "Sounds like a plan." Adam headed downstairs to find a male Spanish speaker, and came back up with Garcia. *1"El abogado es un hombre muerto. Lo entiendes? Timpone esta muerto. Estamos llegando. Estamos llegando. That convincing enough" Garcia asked. "I bought it" Adam said. Voight and Adam headed over to Timpone's office and Al and Jay caught word of a man who made fake ID's, so they went to check that out. That meant I had the office to myself. It was so quiet, that I ended up falling asleep. And I was woken up by Jay. "You good" he asked me. "Yeah. Just a bit tired. I'll pull through."

"Okay. We've got a hit. Lina's fake I.D., Maria Esposito, was just used along with her fake credit card to rent a vehicle from midway 20 minutes ago" Jin said. "You got eyes on them" Voight asked. "Even better. It's got a GPS tracker on it. Got its exact location. Heading north on Pulaski." "Beautiful. Sumner, you're out" Voight said. "Oh, okay, I'll stay back and watch the-" "No, you're out of my unit. You're transferred. As of tomorrow, you work in narcotics" Voight said and cut her off. "You can't transfer me" she said. "I already made the call." "You're making a mistake." "My mistake was letting you stay around this long. You got the day to pack your desk and pass off your files." I turned around to face Jay. "Damn. That was super embarrassing." "I know right. Glad it didn't happen to me" he said.

Today, Voight wanted to ride with Al alone, so that meant Adam and I had to ride with Jay and Erin. I was fine with it except for the fact that Adam was so close to me, and we hadn't really spoken since we kissed. "They just pulled off. We got a visual" Jay said as we turned into a gas station parking lot. We got out of our car and made everyone here get back into their cars. Jay opened the car we were tracking and pulled out Pulpo's son. That's when Lina, Pulpo's baby mama, exited the gas station, and Voight cuffed her. Erin went inside, but came back out empty handed. "He's not in there" she said. "Where's Pulp" Voight asked Lina.

Back at the district, Lina was interviewed, but she didn't give us anything. So we called protective services to deal with her son. Maybe that'd get her talking. "Everyone go back and check every scrap of paper we have on Pulpo. I don't care if it's a jailhouse lunch wrapper he left in the cage. Every known associate, rival, anything you can find" Voight said.

"Hey, guys, check this out. It's a motion for assets petition filed on behalf of Adres Dias. Someone tried to bond Pulpo out" Erin said. "His bond was set at $1 million. He never made bail" I say. "Yeah, but somebody tried. Stepan Nestrov put his nightclub up as an asset, but it wasn't worth enough." "Nestrov... a Russian" Al said. Nestrov's part of the Elston Ave crew. Fresh-off-the-boat Russians shipped over to do dirty work for the old-timers, but they decided to break off on their own" Jay said. "Yeah, and the Russians hate the Colombians" Erin said. "Then why'd they try to bond Pulpo out" Adam asked. "Just get the address of that club" Voight said. Once we got the address, we suited up and headed over to it.

We got inside and handcuffed everyone. Then we brought them back to the district. "Hey, you guys, this laptop you confiscated from his club, I cracked the password, but I can't read any of the emails. They're all in Cyrillic. It's gonna take me forever to translate this" Jin said. "Great. I don't suppose we have a cop on shift that reads Russian too" Adam said. "I know a guy" I say and pull out my phone before dialing a number. "Hey Otis. Can you get down to the district? I need you for something."

"So looks like most of these are back and forth to his girlfriend in Moscow" Otis said. "Here's one about a shipment on Aeroflot." "What's that" Jay asked. "It's a Russian airline." "You think it's about shipping coke" Adam asked. "I don't know. There's an attachment, though. Um, it's for a transport trailer" Otis said. "You don't need a transport trailer to move a couple of gym bags of coke" Al said. "Yeah, but you do need one for SUV's. This is a bill of lading listing two vehicles being shipped on an aeroflot cargo plane from O'Hare to Moscow." After Otis helped us interview Nestrov, we found out where Pulpo would be. We climbed into our cars and caught up with the truck that was transporting him. Then we lead the truck to an abandoned tunnel.

Jay used bolt cutters to take the lock off of the back of the truck, and Voight threw a flash grenade inside. We shut the doors as the grenade went off. When the smoke cleared, I hopped inside and found Pulpo trying to climb out of the trunk of a car. "Hey Pulpo" I say. "Remember me?" Then I punched him in the face and let Voight and Al deal with him.
