Good Men

Yn's POV

"Hey Matt" I say as I walked into the firehouse. "Yn. Hey. Are you looking for Jay and Kevin? They just left" Matt said. "I'm actually not on this case. I took the week off. I just wanted to come say hi to you and everyone else in the firehouse" I say. "Well, how's work? How are things between you and Adam" Matt asked. "Things have been kind of off since I was kidnapped, but we're working things out. Work is good too. Voight suggested I take the week off because I've been working so hard" I say.

"You've been working hard your whole life, and Voight just noticed that now" Matt asked. "He's always noticed, but recently he's been making sure I don't over exert myself. The whole team has. Its kind of weird" I say. "Don't take it too personally. I'm sure they're just looking out for you" Matt said. "It seems like they're always looking out for me. Do you think they think I'm the worst cop on the team" I ask Matt.

"I would hope not. You're an amazing cop" Matt said. "You're right. I'm just taking things too seriously. The team is just keeping a careful eye on me to make sure I'm okay" I say and look down at my phone. "It's getting late. I should get home. I'll talk to you later Matt, okay?" "Okay. Bye Yn" Matt said and gave me a hug.

The case the team was working on didn't take long, meaning I could get back to the next case sooner than expected. "Hey babe" Adam said. "What smells good in here?" "There's lasagna in the oven" I say from my spot on the couch. "Lasagna? When did you find the time to make lasagna" Adam asked me. "I had the day off, remember" I say as Adam took a seat next to me.

"What's the occasion" Adam asked me. "Maybe I just wanted to do it for you. You've been working hard all week, so I figured I'd do something nice for you" I say. Adam smiled and rested his forehead against mine. "You are the best" he said and pulled me in for a kiss. I smiled against his lips before pushing Adam a bit so that his back was resting against the arm rest. I then climbed on top of him and kissed him more passionately, my hands cupping his face. Just as things would've gotten more heated, the oven beeped signaling that the lasagna was ready. "Really lasagna? You had to pick this moment to finish cooking" Adam asked. "We'll resume this later. But right now, lets eat dinner" I say.
