The sunlight streamed through my white curtains, blinding me as I rolled over to hit my blaring alarm clock. Once the piercing sound stopped, I let out a groan and rolled out from under the covers, knowing if I didn't get up now, I wouldn't get up at all. My bare feet hit the fluffy white carpet and the cool air hit my skin. I pulled my hair out of the messy bun that had been in all night and brushed my fingers through the brown locks that now tumbled down my back.

I made my way downstairs, drawn to the alluring smell of syrupy pancakes cooking and trudged into the kitchen to see my dad cooking and Zach sat at the table, smirking at me. Both of them were dressed while I was in my grey pyjama shorts and a grey laced pyjama vest top. I blushed slightly as I remembered our house guest but decided against making an effort just for him. Instead, I ignored his presence completely and seated myself on a barstool.

I must admit, Zach looked even more perfect than yesterday. He wore a pair of dark jeans, that hung loosely around his muscular thighs and a plain white t-shirt that clung to his broad shoulders and large biceps.

"Morning dad, " I mumbled, doing my best not to stare towards the tall, dark and handsome guy that I hated.

"Morning honey." He smiled, placing an empty plate in front of me and another with a large stack of pancakes on. I eyed the pancakes, licking my lips as my father rounded the counter to stand beside me. "I have to go, Ella, I have a lot to do today and have to get started now so I will see you later," he said, kissing my forehead. "Also there is a pack meeting at 5 tonight in the square about the cub attack, you both have to be there. Bye honey."

"Bye!" I called after him before he closed the door and I dove into the pile of pancakes. I began pouring syrup over them when, out the corner of my eye, I saw Zach take a seat right beside me, also helping himself to pancakes.

"Morning."

"Morning, " I replied, mouth full of pancakes. He laughed slightly before digging into his own breakfast. "Excited for your first full day of school?" I mocked.

"Oh yeah," he replied, sarcasm lacing his tone.

"I still don't understand why you would want to go," I pried.

"Sweetheart, give it a rest," he grumbled and I decided I would rather eat my breakfast than ask again.

I once again started shovelling forkfuls of pancakes into my mouth when there was a knock at the door. Zach and I shared a confused glance before I grunted and hopped off the stool to answer the door.

"Jordan?" I asked as I opened the door to reveal my best friend standing on my porch. Her face was glazed with fear, with her brows drooping and her eyes wide. "What's up?"

"I have a situation," she replied shakily.

"Ok, come in." I waited for her to enter and then closed the door behind her. We made our way back to the kitchen. "Is there a reason you had to tell me about the situation before you could get dressed?" I asked glancing at her red pyjamas.

"Urgh, yeah it's important. Sorry, can I borrow some clothes?" I nodded and laughed slightly at the fact she had crossed town to speak to me in her pj's at half 7 in the morning. "Oh, hi," she said, staring in shock at Zach - who just sat eating pancakes in my kitchen.

"He lives here now," I explained, sending her an eye roll. I sat back down as she made her way to the other side of the counter, eyebrows raised and a small, controlled grin on her face. "So what's up?" I ate another mouthful of food before looking at her expectantly.

"Your dad is going to kill me," she mumbled, keeping her gaze glued to the floor and twiddling her phone in her shaky hands.

Her worry about my dad caught my attention immediately and I dropped my fork. "What did you do?" I asked her.

"Rebecca messaged me this morning."

I frowned. "Rebecca?" I asked incredulously, wondering what she had to do with anything.

"Who's Rebecca?" Zach asked from beside me, reminding me of is inconvenient presence.

"Rebecca is the most popular girl in school and a total bitch, her family is rich and she doesn't let anyone forget it," I explained and Zach nodded, seemingly uninterested.

Jordan handed me her phone and I began scrolling through the messages; all of which were insulting, not that I expected differently. I felt my wolf stir inside me as I read through them. My nail beds throbbed as I reigned in the claws that threatened to pierce through at any moment.

I kept scrolling, reading all the messages she had sent to her until I finally reached the last one and my breath hitched in my throat. "What is it?" Zach asked and I looked at Jordan to see her face practically crumble.

I know your big secret and I am not afraid to tell everyone.

"She can't know," I stated. "She can't."

"What if she does?" Jordan asked shakily. I could hear the guilt and fear in her voice as she thought about the consequences of the secret becoming exposed.

"Hey, don't worry ok? She can't know, she is far too stupid for that. We will figure something out, ok just stay calm." I realised I was trying to convince myself more than her. However, she seemed to relax a bit after that and I decided to forget this until we got to school.

I read back through the previous messages with a frown. "I hate her so much," I muttered, despising the fact she was so cruel towards my best friend. "You have weird feet..." I read aloud, a frown on my face "What?"

She shrugged and grinned back at me before I began to laugh. I leant over the counter to look at Jordan's feet and she lightly slapped the side of my face. "Stop!" She exclaimed, making me laugh harder.

"Can I have some pancakes?" She asked and I nodded. The three of us finished our pancakes and Jordan and I went to get dressed.

I put on a pair of jeans and a crop top since the weather was still pretty warm outside. I slipped on my trainers and pinned my long hair back into a ponytail. I stepped back to look at myself and was fairly satisfied. My skin was tanned a nice olive colour since I spent the majority of my time outside and my eyes were a nice bright blue, sparkling in my reflection.

Jordan borrowed a pair of my jeans with a black belt around the waist and paired them with a tank top and a pair of trainers. Her blond curls fell perfectly down her thin back. Jordan was perfectly slim and had big, bright green eyes.

We made our way back to the kitchen to find Zach typing on his phone once again. "You ready?" I asked and he nodded his head, finishing his text and slipping his phone away. He jumped off the seat and followed us to the front door.

The sun was rising behind us as we stepped onto the porch. The grass glistened in the sunlight and was coated in shiny dew. A strong, damp smell of rain lingered in the air after the showers last night but the tarmac was dry and the rays of the sun were already warm on my back.

We made our way across the inner circle and I turned to Zach. "So-?" I started but he cut me off.

"Don't ask a personal question for god's sake," he snapped and I glared at him.

"I was going to ask what classes you had today." I rolled my eyes and he handed me a piece of paper with his timetable on. I found Tuesday and read his classes out. "English with us, Sport, Chemistry, Maths and then Biology... great, you're in all of my classes," I grumbled.
