Finally, last period arrived and I was slumped at the back of the biology classroom, next to Ryder. I leant back in my chair, staring at the letters scrawled on the board, pretending to read.

"So, he was on the phone to your dad?" Ryder whispered incredulously, never wavering his gaze from the board.

"Yep, I don't know what the hell is going on but whatever it is, they are the only two who know about it." I hissed back in frustration.

"Well, we know he gave your dad something in return for letting him into the pack, or he did something or whatever. And we know he shouldn't be in school which means there is a bigger reason than thirst for knowledge as to why is here, and him and your dad seem real close and they talk all the time." He finished reeling off the facts we already knew and I nodded.

"Yep, now how does all that fit together?" I grumbled. I hated being in the dark when it came to the people in my pack. If my dad was keeping secrets and letting strangers into the pack, something big was going on and I was desperate to know what it was.

"I don't know." Ryder shrugged and I sighed. What the hell were they doing?

Suddenly my thoughts were interrupted when the door to the classroom burst open and the headteacher of the school scurried in. The man was in his mid forties I would say, with short greying hair. His forehead was wrinkled with stress lines and his eyebrows were hooded over his beady brown eyes.

"Hi Miss, sorry to interrupt, have you got the key to the storage cupboard?" He asked, his heart was racing in his chest and I could smell the faint scent of sweat from him so it was clear he had made his way here with haste.

"No why?" Our biology teacher replied, apparently sensing his urgency also.

"Some girls thought it would be funny to lock another student in the storage cupboard and we can't find the key." The man replied, a look of worry and guilt flooding his face.

"Who?" She asked. I perked up a bit, sharing an eye roll with Ryder. We both knew exactly who the girls were, with Rebecca and her friends being the only ones brave enough to do what they wanted.

But I was interested in who the poor, unsuspecting victim was that was now trapped in the tiny, cramped closet.

"Jordan Woods."

What?

I shot my hand up immediately and the head addressed me. "Yes?" He asked impatiently. His dark eyebrows - which had streaks of silver threading through them - pulled together, forming crinkles between them.

"Sir, Jordan has..." I paused momentarily. What could I say? Lycanthropy? "Um...claustrophobia, can I please speak to her, I know she will be panicking if she is locked in." I rambled on until he nodded his head and I raced out the room and down the hallway.

Behind me, people from my class were shouting and asking questions while I ran. I could decipher Ryders heart rate amongst them all, beating a little more irregular than it should be. I arrived at the cupboard and crouched beside the door, steadying myself before talking to my best friend.

"Jordan, can you hear me?" I whispered. A few seconds later, a deep, rumbling echoed quietly from the other side of the door. My heart lurched in my chest as the panic arose rapidly inside of me.

This wasn't Jordan, this was her wolf. That was not good.

"Jordan, I know you are scared but I need you to calm down ok? We are going to get you out, just breath ok? In and out." I pleaded, knowing if I could calm Jordan, she would rein her wolf in.
