"Go ahead and try to take her." Zach's arms dropped from around my waist and he towered over me, squaring off to the terrorising Alpha.

"You don't want to fight me. You've seen what happens." He laughed in response as I scrambled to my feet to see what was occurring behind me.

"If you want her, you will have to go through me," Zach growled, sending a cold chill through me. I had never heard that level of anger resonate through him and his voice alone was far too icy, the sound was as hard as diamond and as chilling as the arctic wind.

"Suit yourself." Alpha Dean shrugged and turned to the crowds. "Leave us, nobody interferes, it's just me verses him," he ordered to his henchmen. They hesitated but after a stormy glare, nodded and obeyed.

"Zach." My small voice wavered and came out as barely a whisper, but it was enough. He turned to me and pressed a kiss to my forehead.

"I got this," he whispered, sending me a wink and planting a gentle kiss on my lips. "I love you."

He turned back to Alpha Dean.

I remained completely frozen in my place, standing in a pool of my fathers blood. Instantly, they both transformed into their wolves. Zach's beautiful brown wolf was larger and more muscular than the grey beast opposite him, however, Zach was younger and less experienced than Alpha Dean.

Unlike the previous fight, the two didn't circle each other or snarl at each other but immediately pounced. I trembled on the spot as claws and fangs ripped through each others flesh, spouting blood left right and centre.

Zach leapt at Alpha Dean and clawed violently at his neck, drawing litres of blood. Then, all of a sudden, Alpha Dean flipped the two over so he was on top. He began shredding Zachs skin, biting and clawing until I saw the one thing that caused me to collapse to the ground. Zach's eyes rolled back into his head and his body fell limp.

"Zach!" I screamed, curling up on the floor were there was a small puddle of my salty tears forming. I watched as the boy I was in love with took his final breath and his chest fell. It stayed perfectly still as his heart stopped beating and his limbs all collapsed.

"No! No please! Zach please wake up," I begged and pleaded and cried but his eyes remained closed.

"I warned him." Alpha Dean shrugged as if Zach's life, as if my dads life meant nothing. If I had even a spark of energy left in me, I would've fought him until either he killed me or miraculously I killed him. But I didn't.

Instead I curled up into a ball and watched him turn to the crowd of people who's jaws dropped. "Anyone else?" He asked and everyone cowered slightly into the shadows. My heart was shattered and my chest ached and longed for the two men I loved the most to come back.

"Now, come with me." Alpha Dean turned to me, waiting impatiently. I shook in my place as his intense gaze penetrated through any tough exterior I had.

Before I could stand, a rush of brown swept in front of me and knocked Alpha Dean flying to the floor. I watched as Zach clawed until there was nothing left but a pile of bones and blood. Instantly he transformed back and swivelled to me.

He grasped me in his arms and pulled me against him. "I'm sorry baby," he whispered as the tears continued to pour.

Was he really alive?

"I thought you were dead!" I screamed, slamming my fist into his chest, ignoring the audience.

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry but he needed to believe it," he murmured, burying his head in my neck.

"You're alive," I whispered, clinging to him as if he would disappear at any second. "You weren't breathing."

"You should've known better after last time I stopped breathing. Still no mouth to mouth?" He smirked and I couldn't help myself.
