It was now Thursday and I was sat in the back of biology, listening to our professor talk about adaptations. I began to close my eyes and drift off when I heard an argument outside.
"Listen you freak! Stay away from her," I heard a voice yell. I moved my hair behind my ears so I could hear more clearly.
"Mate, I honestly couldn't care less about your girlfriend." Zach brushed the other guy off and I froze, widening my eyes.
"Yeah, well she tells me you were the one that flirted with her." The first guy yelled angrily. I felt a weird feeling in my stomach when I thought of Zach flirting with some girl. I guess I was just surprised that he would be interested in a human.
"Well she lied to you," Zach scoffed. I bit my lip nervously and shook my head, hoping one of them would back down before this went any further.
"Are you calling my girl a liar?!" The other guy screamed.
"Yeah I am," Zach shouted back. This was really really bad.
"Meet me here, after school and say that again," the guy demanded.
"Ok." Zach grunted and my eyes widened.
As soon as the lunch bell rang, I ran to Zach's classroom and grabbed him. I shoved him into the nearest storage room and crossed my arms. "What the hell?" He asked, startled.
"You are not going to fight that kid later," I demanded sternly, shooting him a sharp look.
"Yes, I am," he stated, firmly.
"Zach, you're adrenaline will be skyrocketed. You will shift!" I shook my head at his stupidity.
"Ella, I will be fine."
"Really?" I challenged, shoving him. "You can control it?" I shoved him again.
"Ella-."
I cut him off with another shove. "Can you?!" I yelled and I slammed my hands onto his chest, forcing him backwards. He let out a deep growl and his eyes flashed an illuminous yellow. "Told you."
"I will control it later," he snapped.
"No. I won't let you fight him."
"What are going to do sweetheart?" He laughed and I growled a deep, dominant snarl, taking him by surprise and pinning him against the desk.
"You aren't going to that fight," I finalised.
He pushed me backwards and in a flash I was pinned against the wall with him in front of me smirking. His hands were placed either side of my head, caging me in, and his legs were pressed firmly against mine.
"You know, if you weren't so damn annoying, we could be doing much more exciting things in this position, sweetheart," he whispered, a smirk playing on his lips as he sent me a wink.
Heat flooded through me whilst at the same time, shivers tingled over my skin. I quickly regained my composure and pretended to be unbothered by his comment. I scoffed and rolled my eyes at him. "You aren't going to fight him," I growled.
"And I ask again, what are you going to do?" His eyes twinkled as an amused look spread across his face. Waves of his dominant heat washed over me but he was weaker than me and we both knew it.
"I will call my dad," I threatened and he thought about it for a minute.
"You call him and I'm sure I could find some dirt on you to distract him with, like the Mason situation." He raised an eyebrow, knowing he had won.
"Do it," I told him. "He will be just as mad at you for the Mason situation and more mad about the fighting, so do it," I pushed, praying he wouldn't because the thought made me feel dizzy.
