Jeff and Mal were still sitting on the sofa when Nada came in, both sipping coffee, both talking in hushed tones.

"Mom, I'm home. I bring guests." Kyle followed her inside and Mal nodded.

"Kale is in your room."

Nada nodded back at her mom and led Kyle to her room. Kale was sitting on her bed, looking up at the constellation on her ceiling.

"Hey, big brother."

Kale sat up to look at his sister, and Nada felt her jaw drop. When did he get so freaking gorgeous?

His hair had grown out, and it was down to his shoulders as straight as Nadas, but it was brown. His facial structure said I'm fit. Just wait for me to take off my shirt. He was wearing a tight shirt, which did show off his muscles in a subtle but screamingly loud way at the same time. He was wearing skinny jeans and a pair of black and blue socks.

"Hey, Nada. How's life?"

She smiled. "This is Kyle- well, you know him. He's my boyfriend."

Kale nodded at his sister's boyfriend, then hopped off the bed. "I'll leave you two alone, then. We'll catch up later."

Nada smiled and nodded, watching her brother leave the room. If only I wasn't related to him. She sat on her bed, and Kyle sat next to her, watching her pull her lap top out.

They took three hours searching through their pictures. They only selected ten and put them on a flashdrive. "We'll have my mom take some another time." Nada nodded.

Kale drove them back to Kyle's, since Mal and Jeff were still talking. Ashton was there and it was almost time for dinner. Kyle took the flashdrive and set it in his room, then went into the kitchen to help with dinner.

Ashton and Nada sat in the living room, thumb wrestling until dinner. Nada won five to one. When they got bored with that and dinner still wasn't done, Nada asked Ashton why he was going out with Sabine.

"Well, I don't really know anymore." he shrugged. He didn't really want to be with Sabine after that day at school. But he knew that he couldn't just leave her, since he had already been in her pants and all.

"She's using you, Ashton. You know that, right?" Nada looked at Ashton and saw the realization in his eyes.

"Nada," He swallowed. How would he say what he wanted to say? He couldn't just say it, because he'd sound dumb and he didn't want her to know everything. He didn't want to tell her because of the fact that things that he and Sabine had talked about weren't all exactly sister or adopted sister friendly.

She looked up at him through her lashes. "Yeah?"

He looked away from her. He really liked her. But so did Kyle. And Sabine. How could Nada have so many people liking her? Because her plainness was like a punch in the face for beauty. Screw make up. "She isn't using me." He lied. "She's happy to be with me."

Nada shook her head and sat in silence, waiting for Ashton to say something, since something was obviously bothering him, but he sat in the same silence. He hoped that the silence would say more than words, but as he watched Nada, he realized it didn't. He was opening his mouth to say something else when Kyle came in and announced dinner was ready.

They ate not so much in silence, but more in awkward conversation. Kyle's dads were really nice, but Nada felt uncomfortable talking to them about anything, especially how her summer went. It didn't go well, but she lied and said it was great. How could it have been with Sabine in her house? And Ashton was completely quiet, he only ate the lasagna and carrots they had made.

Ashton slept in the spare room, which made Nada bunk with Kyle for the night. They cuddled close and Kyle kissed the top of Nada's head. He wanted to hold her like this forever, not let her go home. Maybe then she'd be happy again.

He had realized that Nada's obsessive compulsive disorder was better than ever, that she wasn't counting out loud or breaking down whenever things went out of wack. He laced his fingers with her's so they were holding hands across their bodies.

He was just happy to be with the girl he loved.

--

Nada had come back. Sabine knew that. And then she left again. That was pretty evident. there was some boy at the house named Kale, Jeff's 'son' who looked more like Mal and nothing like Jeff, but also not like Mal. So he was some other guy's son.

Sabine rolled over and looked at her wall. Jesse McCartney looked back at her and she grinned. She had met him once. He was a really nice guy with a really cute butt.

Realizing that everything was falling out of her plan, Sabine sat up and swung her legs around to the edge of her bed. She remembered the time she used to be afraid of the boogeyman, but the real bad guy had been her own dad.

The night was really dark, and Kyea's night lights weren't working. The shades were pulled down and Lisa had promised to keep the hall light on. It had winked off a couple of minutes ago.

Kyea held onto her blankets, pulling them up to just under her eyes. She hated the dark, hated the sound that the door made when it slowly creaked open. Was this the boogeyman? Did he not really live under her bed, but in the hallway?

"Kyea." A male's voice whispered.

"Go away. I just want to sleep."

"Kyea." It sounded more urgent now, and she felt like she was going to cry. He was closer. She could hear his feet moving across the room.

"No, no, no, no. I don't want to, I just want to sleep. You know?" She hid completely under the blankets.

"Kyea,"

"Go away, daddy."  She whispered. "Please. Not tonight."

The blankets were pulled away from her head. There was still no light as the person pulled her from her folded over position and placed his lips on her's, pulling her shirt up over her head.

Sabine was walking to her closet now. She needed to put on something nicer. Pulling her blonde hair into a pony tail, she grabbed a red shirt. There was no way that she was going to let Mal bring in stupid people to fuck up her plan, have Nada sleep over at a guy's house. This wasn't how it was supposed to go!

Kyle wasn't supposed to be with Nada! Nada was supposed to be with Sabine. That's what Sabine wanted. All Sabine wanted. At this point, that was Nada. That's all that mattered to her anymore. She didn't want more kills.

She just wanted one of the most gentle girls she'd ever met.

Oh, fuck. She thought, pulling on a pair of skinny jeans. It's almost time for school.

She hadn't realized how late it was when she sat up. It was already five in the morning.

Fuck me.
