Part 21: The Fall Begins

YN's POV
I was so confused. I just saw Penny essentially "die" but I guess she was never alive to begin with. But she felt so alive so I guess she was. I ignored my confusing thoughts and went back to comforting Ruby. She was on her knee's crying at the sight of Penny in pieces on the ground. Phyrra looked just as mortified. Everyone in the stadium was freaking out. Then a voice came over the speakers. This wasn't either of the announcers voices this was a female voice

"This is not a tragedy. This was not an accident.  This is what happens when you hand over your trust, your safety, your children to men who claim to be our guardians. But are in reality nothing more than men. Our academies headmasters wield more power than most armies and one was audacious enough to control both. They cling to this power in the name of peace and yet what do we have here. One nations attempt at a synthetic army mercilessly torn apart by another star pupil. What need would Atlas have for a soldier disguised as an innocent little girl. I don't think the Grimm can tell the difference. What I ask you is what is Ozpin teaching his students? First a dismemberment now this. Huntsman and Huntresses should carry themselves with honour and mercy yet I have witnessed neither. Perhaps Ozpin though defeating Atlas in the tournament would help people forget about his colossal failure that effected Vale when Grim infected its streets. Or maybe this was his message to a tyrannical dictator that has occupied an unsuspecting kingdom with armed forces. Honestly I don't have the slightest clue as to who is right and who is wrong. But I know that the existence of peace is fragile and or kingdoms conduct their business with iron gloves. As someone who hails from Mystral I can assure you the situation there is. Equally undesirable. Our kingdoms are at the brink of war yet we the citizens are left in the dark. So I ask you when the first shots are fired. Who do you think you can trust?"

The video feeds then shut off and we were all left stunned. We then heard the familiar siren that signalled a Grimm attack level 9. All of the citizens started running out of the arena Ironwood tried to reassure everyone that there was no need to panic but then a Nevermore jumped onto the holo roof shielding the top of the arena. It started pecking and scratching at it as people continued to run. "Fight or run Ruby which is it?" I asked her looking at the Nevermore as people ran by

She stayed silent more Nevermore started flying over the roof as only huntsman and huntresses remained in the arena.

Yang's POV
I was running down the halls of Beacon after hearing what happened on the broadcast. I was trying to call Ruby she wasn't answering so I called Blake "Yang are you ok?" She said

"Yeah I'm fine. Is Ruby with you?"

"No I think she's with YN"

I stopped in my tracks and started worrying about Ruby and YN "Yang don't worry Ruby's our leader and YN wouldn't let anything happen to her"

"Right"

"I'm heading to the docks near the courtyard. The White Fang are releasing Grim into the school"

"The White Fang are here?!"

I ran into a few Grimm and had to fight them off "I gotta go be careful"

I fought them off then continued running down the halls and tried calling YN

YN's POV
I was holding on to Ruby as the Nevermore kept pecking at the dome. I then got a call from Yang "Yang hows it looking out there?" I asked

"Not great. Is Ruby with you?"

"Yeah she's here do you know where Maple is?"

"No. If she's not with you she's probably with Weiss and Blake"

"Do you know where they are?"

"I think they're in the fair grounds"

"Ok"
