Xukun's POV
"You need some help?" I ask as I enter the kitchen and see Nana struggling with reaching for something.
She jumps out of surprise and puts her hand over her heart. I watch as she tries to calm herself down holding onto a table in the middle of the room. Her eyes close tightly and her hair combed into a messy bun. I try to hold my laughter in as she finally comes to her senses and starts screaming at me.
"Ya! Cai Xukun! What do you think you're doing?! You can't just randomly scared people like that!" she yells and I give her a warm smile.
"Sorry, baby girl, I didn't mean to," I say ruffling her hair and she slaps my hand away immediately.
"Lair," Nana screams straight to my face and I chuckle a bit. Damn...she's good.
"Okay...maybe I did mean to," I confess and look at the open shelve to find the flour there. I reach it easily and put it in front of her but when she tries to take it I put my hand higher.
"Give it to me," Nana says jumping to the item in my hand while I put my arm even higher making it harder for her. She growls in annoyance and crosses her arms in front of her waiting for my reaction.
"If you want it give me a reward first," I say pointing at my cheek with my finger telling her to give me a kiss. She scoffs and I observe her as she plants a kiss on the inside of her hand. Her action makes me confuse but everything gets clear the moment her hand slaps the place I've pointed. Nana takes advantage of my temporary inattention and snaps the flour out of my hand.
Nana smiles at me in victory causing small wrinkles to appear under her shining blue eyes. She's so adorable when she smiles. She turns around from me and continue making the cake. The feeling of disappointment hits me.
I have to gain her attention somehow.
"Oh and by the way," she suddenly says coming closer to me and flicks my forehead. I look at her with a questionable stare waiting for an explanation. "When I decline your call that means I can't talk. Get it. I was with Cheng! Good thing he didn't notice my screen and your name on it...I must have told him to go to the quieter place because I knew he would have been pissed off if he had known it was you. Good thing he didn't realise that my leave wasn't necessary since it wasn't that loud," she yell-whispers at me and I smirk to myself.
"Sorry, I didn't know you were with him," I lie with a apologetical smile on my face.
"Liar!"
Damn...she's really good at reading people.
"Okay maybe I knew..." I declare and Nana comes back to work.
I watch her carefully as I wait for any idea for a new topic. I look at the hoodie she's wearing and widen my eyes. I clearly remember this piece of clothing.
"Did Cheng buy it for you?" I ask her and she freezes in her spot. I come closer to her and glare at her face.
"Yes..." Nana answers finally avoiding the eye contact at all cost making me smirk to myself. So she also remembers...
"Let me help you," I declare after a moment of silence and she starts to explain what I should do, but I take some flour in my hand and splash the powder into her face interrupting her in the middle of the sentence.
I laugh loudly at her face expression because it looks hilarious. Nana slowly uses her hand to wash her face and opens her eyes. She gives me a dead glare and glance at the bag with flour. Oh no...
She takes some in her hand and throws it at me before I can run away. That wasn't the plan...and now is her turn to laugh...but it's me who always win.
