Xukun's POV
"I was at the cemetery and she wasn't there," he says staring right into my eyes. Damm...okay Xukun, play dumb.
"What are you talking about?" I ask acting clueless and he just giggles softly.
"Okay, maybe I said it wrong," the boy states and I look at him confused staying quiet. "I was in front of the cemetary and I saw her."
"So what's the problem?" I ask. Mann this guy is so confusing.
"I saw her walking away with you," he declares and my jaw drops. That's it. I can't escape now. I don't have any other choice but to tell him the truth.
"Okay, when Cheng came angry to the house and told me what happened, I felt guilty so I started to look for her. Cemetary was my first destination and I got lucky because she was there. She was so sad and I knew that if I just take her home, she won't forget about the situation so I took her to the arcades," I explain everything and sigh deeply at the end.
"Tell me...you like her, right?" Zhengting asks me and I widen my eyes. What? How does he know? Okay...play it cool, Xukun.
"No, why?" I lie and he bursts out laughing.
"So why did you lie earlier? About where she was? And why did you take her to the arcades to make her happy? You could have just driven her home or you could have just stay at home in the first place, so why?" Zhengting questions taking me by surprise. I can't even utter a word because nothing comes to my mind.
"It's out of guilt," I mumble finally and the boy just smirks at me. Something tells me that he's got more.
"I'll tell you the interesting story...once on a party, I was coming back from the restroom and you know what I saw? A guy kissing a girl. I was shocked at first but I decided not to butt in because it wasn't my business." So he saw it? "After some time they finally pulled away and the girl pushed the boy. She checked if someone saw it but she didn't notice me. After that she made her way to the room again but the boy stopped her by hugging her from behind. And then he said 'Don't leave. I like you.' " Zhengting finishes and smirk at me softly.
"I was drunk," I answer emotionless.
"I didn't say it was you," he responds and I look at him confused. Why are you doing this? "But you know drunken words are sober thoughts," he adds and turns around to leave. So you're not going to kill me? I kissed your sister, actually a cousin but she's like a sister, and what more girl has a boyfriend...why are you so calm, Zhengting?
"Oh and one more thing about the story. Being honest the girl wasn't pushing the guy away. She wasn't even trying. She looked like she enjoyed it because if I had seen it well, she kissed him back," he says his last words before disappearing behind the door. What...that's impossible, but...that would make sense why in my so called 'dreams' which probably are my memories , Nana always kisses me back...
I get in the car and drive away. My heart beats rapidly because of an unknown reasons. Is it really true? She really kissed me back? I don't know how I am supposed to feel. Happy? Ashamed of myself because I kissed a taken girl? It was never my intention to kiss her while she's still with Chengcheng. I've wanted to do this when she's finally mine. She probably kissed me back because I forced her somehow. She probably thought that it was the only thing that would make me go away.
Suddenly my phone vibrates in my pocket and I take it out. I answer the call and put the phone next to my ear slowing down a bit.
"Xukun! Man...where were you?! Why weren't you answering my calls?! You know how worried I was?! You can't just hang up after I say something so important like who the girl we're looking for is! Ughh..." Yanjun yells through the phone making me regret I actually have pressed the green button.
