Xukun's POV

It's been already over a week since Nana found out about her real father. She's avoiding this subject like fire. She didn't even told anyone about it. It was me who unintentionally asked clueless Qinjia how's Nana doing after the shocking news. And that's how the information started to spread around.

I've been meeting with the girl the whole week to practise our song. She always comes with a fake smile on her face pretending that everything's okay. Everyone knows that's she's acting happy but we can do nothing about it. How to even start a conversation with a girl in this state? We all are just afraid about her reaction.

I sit on the floor in the empty room waiting for Nana to make the rehearsal. The last one before our performance.

Few days ago my dad heard the song when we were practising. He liked it and asked us to sing it for him and his wife at their 19th anniversary. I couldn't say no because Nana being Nana agreed right away not caring about my opinion. I mean, it's not like I would make a different decision.

I can see how my father loves his wife. And it's a mutual feeling. He explained how much his wife will love this song. He wants this song to be a present for her. I guess it's quite sweet of him.

Suddenly the door burst open and Nana greets me with a wide fake smile on her face. She wears black jeans with a pink shirt and gray jacket. Elegant like always...

"Sorry for being late," she says putting her things on the floor and coming closer. Her once shining blue iris replaced with lifeless grey one. Small circles under her eyes can be seen despite the thick layer of make up.

There are some things that you can't and you shouldn't cover up.

"Let's start...the party is tomorrow," Nana says as she tries to pass me to play the music. I take a hold of her wrist before she can do so and turn her around so she fully stands in front of me.

"How long are you going to be like this?" I ask and the small insincere smile finds its way to her tired face.

"What are you talking about?" she plays dumb exactly knowing what I mean.

"How long are you going to pretend that you are okay? We're all worried about you," I say looking directly into her eyes. This eyes asking for help...as if her inner self is begging for a rescue but her body tries to cover it.

"You can stop worrying...I'm fine," she answers and turns around to play the music but I harshly pull her back before she can walk away. She lost her balance because I've used to much strength but I manage to catch her just in time.

"I can't stand seeing you like this...you can be angry, shout, cry whatever but at least show some kind of emotion," I beg as I hold her tight in my arms. Her hands resting on my chest giving me some kind of warmth. "As much as I hate seeing you cry...I hate seeing you keeping it all inside more," I add and her eyes gets teary. I never knew I'll feel so relief seeing tears on her face.

"Why are you doing this?" Nana suddenly asks as she tries to hold back her sobs. Her question takes me aback and the girl uses the moment of my confusion to push me away.

"What do you mean?"

"I have enough of it all...until you came everything was okay," she starts rising her voice a bit but I stay quiet letting her continue. "Maybe my terms with my parents weren't the best but they were better than they are now because they're not my parents! My mom is dead and my dad is father of the only person I truly dislike in this world!" she yells and I just stand listening to her every word. My heart aches because of her accusations but it's okay...as long as she doesn't keep it in...it's okay.
